| Mindless Self Indulgence – Futures Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think Jimmy is saying how there has never been a band like Mindless Self Indulgence and there never will be one as good, and he's not even serious about it. That's what makes them so awesome ^_^ | |

| Flogging Molly – Black Friday Rule Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I saw Flogging Molly for the first time two days ago and this song ruled the whole set. The guitar solo was extended for about eight minutes with Dave talking about the guitarist saying: "It's no wonder he's gonna be a daddy, this man doesn't shoot any blanks!.... I'm just kidding, I don't know.... actually I don't give a fuck!" Before the song he said it was about growing up and leaving your home, leaving your mother, getting out in the world on your own. The lyrics were all different, but the only part I picked up on was: "I got on a plane and flew All the way to California Ex-Wife A, Ex-Wife B, Ex-Wife C..... working on D" The show rocked so much, long live Flogging Molly |

| Tool – Third Eye Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think the line "Prying open my third eye" Is about hallucenogenic use. Meditative practices and excersices can be used to slowly utulize your third eye. But by using these hallucenogens you immedietly begin to have the visions, but only temporarily (Unless you do too much then you can't discern what is "Reality" and what is this "Spiritual Encounter") so it is like forcing your third eye open to see the real world around you. |

| Modest Mouse – Doin' the Cockroach Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think cockroaches signify how no matter what is attempted it all ends up the same. Cockroaches have been here since pre-historic times and are still here doing the same thing now as they did then, as ScalewagJim said, and they will also continue to after we are gone (Whether we blow ourselves up with nuclear weapons or just die out from lack of recources) and they will live far past that. So I guess you could say mimicking the cockroach could leave you doing the same thing forever never changing, kind of like a escape defense mechanism: If you never face the obstacle, there's no way you can fail so you don't need to fear failure. A cockroach is immune to radiation which is one of the major denominators in the extiction of the human race. So "Doin' the Cockroach" you are immune to failure (Radiation) by avoiding any obstacles that come your way. Unfortunately this would bar you from ever trying anything so you would just be the same for your entire lifetime, just like a cockroach. Okay I guess that's it! I'm probably way off, but oh well it's what I think XD | |
