It's said that when he was writing this song, Hunter had the nation's bicentennial in mind. It started out as part of The Holy Trinity of Dead songs.. which was know as Help/Slip/Frank. The entire trilogy was only played about 100 times.

I don't know if a studio version would be as big a hit. It doesn't feel they would be able to reach the level that they were able to reach for this song in concert. It's just that powerful. Just my opinion. Fantastic song!!!
