I don't think this song is about anti-depressants at all...being one who takes them, I don't think it changes you as a person or "fabricates" at all, I just think it helps overcome inexplicable chemical deficiences that cause the person taking them to feel depressed/hate his/herself. But anyway, back to the song. It's extremely powerful, and it means a lot to me...I had this friend who wouldn't stay off drugs, and I tried so hard to help out, and he said he hated them so many times, and he promised he was done. But drugs mess with your friendships, your relationships, and your loyalties, so that in the end, the people who loved you can't tell you from the drugs. |

Wow, I didn't know that, ReBirth. That really changes the meaning of the song to me, especially the end "It doesn't seem there's hope for me, I let you down. But I won't give in now, not for any amount" I'm thinking that probably means that he couldn't keep the person he cared about so much from committing suicide, but as hard as it is, he won't commit suicide himself ("give in"), because he still knows how important life and "the world we love" is. |

Just a couple of corrections: "The love we make is give and it's take, I'm game to play along All I can say, I shouldn't say..." Amazing song, once I listened to every song on the album a couple of times, I couldn't believe how amazingly good it was. Every song is great, but this one means a lot to me. Who doesn't have a special someone who they just want to ask "You wanna take a ride, get out of this place while we still have time?" Life's short...we've gotta live it. |
