Not only did Iced Earth give us a song, they made a whole album dedicated to our country yet we dont care.. they are one of the most generous bands look at most music people today especially rappers, they hate their fans. This song is about the corruption of religion during the time of the crusades. The rich could buy religious positions if they wanted to or just simply not work at all while the poor fought for the rich. The rich are fighting a useless war "slaughter in the name of Christ" that phrase makes no sense and the wars were useless. Thats how we get poor mans crusade. |

This is simply about Jesus's crucifixion. He is starting to feel like his faith is falling apart, the grail the lamb the rose are all signs of faith or whatever, golgotha is where he was crucified. It is beleived that Jesus died and went to hell for 3 days, which would describe the "...no evil" part at the end.
