This song stems from Courtney Love's fascination with old dolls, in the imagery. But it has nothing to do with dolls. It is a personal song, in it's lyrics. Everyone can believe it's Courtney Love speaking when she says ''Someday you will ache like I ache''.
It is very believable. This song is great poetry.The theme of this song is love, and being used. They might pretend to love you, but they really don't. They leave you with heartache, whether it's a lover or the world in general.Everyone breaks you.He ( or they) only love things to see them break. It is also about wanting everything, and ending up with nothing. At the end all you can say is ''Someday you will ache like I ache'' or hope they will ache like you ache someday.This song is autobiography for Courtney Love, but it could also be autobiography for a lot of people. When I was depressed once, I put the line ''Someday you will ache like I ache'' as my screensaver on my computer.Courtney Love defines heartache for both her self and the world in general in this song. This song is genuis. |

This song is one of my favorite songs, hole and otherwise.It could mean a lot of things.It is about death and how someone who is dead keeps watch over a loved one on earth ''I'll be on the other side''or ''empty eyes''.Thus, it could be about Kurt Cobain, if you interpret it that way. However, that's not very likely the real meaning of it. But it could mean this.This song is about fading, rotting and being rotten.It is about rotting towards death, or in death. It is also about the music industry, and how that is rotten.It is a great song! |

I think this song is an encouragment to survive the hard times-''the trick is to keep breathing'', the trick is to stay alive.Sometimes it is hard to have a will to live in a difficult situation.But, this song reminds you that ''maybe you will get what you want this time around''.This song definetly speaks about a girl trapped in some sort of situation, perhaps one involving broken trust and abuse.The melody is the best part of this song, although the lyrics are appealing. This song has depressing subject matter, but a hopeful message. I once had someone tell me to never let anything get me down. This song has that message too, for everybody struggling with diffcult situations. |
