I love this song, but anyway, when i listen to it, it seems more about spirituality then anything. Like finding God. "Stranger than your sympathy" would be God's sympathy and forgiveness that he's saying he doesn't deserve it and "my apology" is him asking for forgiveness. "killing myself from the inside out" would be him doing things that arnt right (drinking, w/e) and the sins are killing him spiritually before they're effecting him physically. "all my fears have pushed you out" thats pretty self-explanatory "I wished for things that i don't need" Thats saying he's wished for or wanted material things or things that are selfish "And what i chase won't set me free" I like that line alot, i think its about going after things that are morally wrong, and when you chase after them you are a slave to that sin, be it alcohol, drugs or sex etc. I don't know, theres alot of emotion in this song, the singer just sounds really confused, like he just got a reality check or something and he's seeing everything in a new light. Thats my take on the song neway, its a great song. |
