i think it's a song about the band taking a step back from everything and seeing the big picture (i.e. what they've accomplished, the mistakes they've made, how'd they want to be perceived etc..) since they haven't had the opportunity to do so. but it is also looking into the future and how its uncertainty is okay with them. really dig the original and acoustic versions of this song. |

Brilliant! just ridiculously brilliant! this song is one of the most honest songs out about one's feelings. i also love the line: 'losing your mind for the sake of your heart'... that's one powerful lyric right there. i think this song just sums up all those heartaches and headaches one goes through after a break up... it's a beautiful song that makes my heart weep. |

in the tour book it says "light"... i think that the next line is just another 'what if' statement... but yeah, i've always have had conflicting feelings about this song... sometimes i like it...other days...not so much. i like the line "let's take a breath/jump over the side". i think that's a lovely visual... someone taking another person's hand and jumping off together. you know, let's take the risk together and let's see what happens. i think that's nice. |

Whenever I listen to this song...I always thought it was about being in a relationship. you know... where you care so much about someone that no matter what the circumstances or what the fall-outs are, you always go back to them at the end of the day... But maybe it's simpler than that. Maybe it's just about being there for someone that has gone through a lot. I mean... there are times in our lives where a series of bad things happen… but at that same instance, those moments are where people that care so deeply about us can be there for us, comfort us, and help us through those tribulations. I think that’s what this song is about…being there for someone that has experienced a lot of pain. Well…whichever meaning it speaks to you, it’s a beautiful song nonetheless… |

humm... i see it as someone always going back to that one special person. it's like this person wants to get away from this relationship, yet there's some sort of force that draws him back into it... ...it's this vicious cycle of breaking things off and getting back together...and all your friends want it to end so that you won't have to go through it anymore but you just can't break the trend. ...i dunno... |

i kinda see this song in a different way...i guess it's from experience or something. but i think this song is about getting all those old feelings of love, security etc...back when that special someone is around. i guess i kinda see it as ...pls don't get too close to me or else all these old feelings are just going to re-surface, which wouldn't be an ideal. i dunno. well...it's a beautiful song that makes me sad. |
