" i believe he killshimself im not 100% on that one..." Well, Swansong for a Raven does shed a bit more light on the subsequent events. |

| Great cover. Cradle of Filth do covers well, they take the song and interpret it in their own way. Their own take on an already amazing song. This and Mr. Crowley are among their best covers, in my opinion. If you like this, please check out Graveworm's cover of Fear of the Dark. | |

Yeah, she has also done backing vocals for a variety of other bands as well. Angtoria, ex-Covenant (Nor), ex-The Kovenant, ex-Mortiis, ex-Therion (Swe), ex-The Gathering, ex-Tulu Quite a list. |

| It is a bloody brilliant song. And Swansong for a Raven is the sequel, if you have any doubts, read my post thereabouts. | |

I don't know where you guys were mis-informed about this being the sequel to 'Her Ghost in the Fog'...because it is. Filth has said so himself: "This is the second part to 'Her Ghost In The Fog' and therefore subsequently follows the story of the young man avenging his woman's rape and murder at the hand's of a self-style lynch inquisition. The original (which culminated in him, haunted by his lover's spirit, burning those responsible alive in the village chapel) is expanded upon further as he recalls the events of that fateful day as he too is hunted by a vengeful mob in the forest where he converses with her beautiful, but dead and rotting body. This has a very 'Sleepy Hollow/Nightmare Before Christmas' vibe to the proceedings, with the rollercoaster ride of riffs spiralling toward climax. Dark and magickal. Oh, and it also features the voice of Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies), reprising his role as guest narrator." That snippet was borrowed from the Cradle of Filth official site...so now that's closed. Secondly, the guy was obviously not dreaming about his revenge. He did actually kill her rapists, but then he returned to her grave and lay with her. He then slept, and was "Enwrapt in pure clouds of the sweetest oblivion". But when he awoke, he "woke to insanity." He was caught, and thrown in jail. His lover's body was obviously hung in plain view of the town to serve as a warning for anyone else. (She was a witch, of course.) The two were to be burned on the 'morrow, as the song states, but he fears neither death nor fire, for they could not compare to the loss of the one he loved. Thank you, adieu. |

From Dani himself, end of track 7 on 'The Princess of Darkness' CD. "A song about love lost....and the murder of the soul..." |

Hey, don't get mad at us or the band just cause you don't understand the song man. Consult your Willy Wonka brethren if you need any explanations at all, they are quite good at educating spoiled children, so I've heard. Please don't ASSume all Cradle of Filth fans are goths. Nobody likes one who ASSumes too much. (Non-goth aqui.) |

"bashyouifyourewrong on 01-26-2005 @ 03:26:42 AM for all thos ppl who think danis voice is real ur dumb......if u so called fans ever bothered to pay attention to those songs ull notice the obvious fact that his voices changes from that of an old man to a more younger but still rusty voice.....the human vocal system can not work like that naturally...changing from 2 completely different voices that fast and that often...so for u idiots....his voice is computer enhanced " Thank you Captain Obvious. -_- His voice isn't "enhanced" though. He simply records low parts separate from the high parts. Any moron with two brain cells can figure this out for themselves, especially since in this particular song, he layers two different pitches of vocals throughout a good portion of it. You, sir, deserve a pat on the back. Or a slap in the face. I can't decide which. Even so, if you listen to his live versions, you would find that his voice can transistion from low to high pitches with relative ease. It actually isn't that difficult at all, with a bit of practice. "I say I'd like to see him/her/it or anybody else scream like Dani" LOL, it's not that hard. ^_^ |

In my opinion, they are not Satanic, but they are merely Anti-Christian, and sometimes one will pretend to worship the being Christians hate/fear the most, just to piss the off, etc. The idea that they are possibly Wiccan is laughable at best. To those who thought this was a "poorly written song," it's not even a song, it's just an arrangement of vocals. If you think that Cradle of Filth is Black Metal, take HungerForMore's advice and listen to some bands such as Immortal, Satyricon, Burzum, Emperor, et cetera. Then you may realize that Cradle is not Black Metal, but they are more Extreme Gothic Metal. (I can't stand ignorant fools who say "OMG! COF R TEH 1337 BLACK MEHTAL, SO R MANSON!") Manson is Gothic Metal at most, but probably would be considered Nu-Metal if anything. In the future, please think twice about posting if you have trouble putting together a thought or even a decently constructed sentance. |

| Cradle of Filth – Tearing The Veil From Grace Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song is about Lucifer and his followers falling from grace, and their plan to overtake Heaven again when the time is right. "Free shining souls torn from God's given Reich Defiled, reviled, exiled from sight" Refers to the angel's falling from God's grace and being exiled from Heaven. "Regaining His sights for the storming of skies..." Gives the impression that Lucifer waits in Hell, plotting his revenge. "And after descenturies have crawled, vilified Our dark harkened day on spread wing now arrives" Refers to the time finally coming for them to attempt to take Heaven. "To retake what once was lost To exalt our throne above the stars of God" "Now divintity is a worm ridden mouth In a darkened high house Overrun by disease So let the truth be wrung That the Banished Ones intent On reinstatement have won We breathe by virtue of their rot Now our souls exult above the stars of God" In the end Heaven is defeated, and the Banished Ones rejoice. "Phallus sea" Could also be heard as Fallacy, referring to how they feel about Heaven, see also: Phallelujah! There is obviously much more that could be discussed, but I'm sure you can find the rest out yourself. ^_^ |
