| The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"I went down to the Chelsea drugstore To get your prescription filled I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy And man, did he look pretty ill We decided that we would have a soda My favorite flavor, cherry red I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was dead" "I saw her today at the reception In her glass was a bleeding man She was practiced at the art of deception Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands" death is an issue, whether it be death of one's spirit, loss of fear or death, or something, it is referenced the whole song to me really means what it says, you can't always get what you want, it's a lesson in human nature and our insatiability |

"I agree, 9/11 would be in this song if it was written later." Arguable as each of these events save the crucifixion were non-religious events, and from the non-Christian perspective the crucifixion(i can't spell, ugh) was a very political matter. |

"this song is possibly the birth of heavy metal" well the band certainly was |

| The Beatles – Yellow Submarine Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
To say that this song has more to it is to undermind the fact that the beatles are one of the most innovative songwriters ever to live...in fact I would argue the best. So, whether or not this song has more meaning than what is clear I don't know, but I would like those who are saying they are "diehard" beatles fans to stop because you fail to realize that they could have had the innovation to write this song that people still sing to this day... |

metallicaman123 no metallica fan (or that big of a fan) would know the significance of the beatles, because metallica didn't have such deepness and musicality I think the song is just like Sgt. Peppers L H C B, just an introduction to a show for a fake band... |

| The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
The song is a string of very important but not connected ideas. So to say it is gibberish is a bunch of bullshit, but to say it all has one meaning does as well, as it seems the song changes theme every two lines or so... The beatles not liking the hype: they didn't, they were more about music and artistry...but who wouldn't enjoy it somewhat. The joker line refers to John saying that people who smoke or do anything and think "it can't happen to them" will have the joker literally laugh at them...and get screwed over just like everybody else... Yes, the beatles did drugs, but most of the time while recording they were on a mild high or smoking...in fact most of the time it was just cigarettes and such...and those who think this is a drug song, you fail to relize the deepness that is within this song. And at the end of the song the lyrics are "Ev'rybody haha!" (repeated) so this smoke pot bullshit is...well...bullshit. |

| The Beatles – All You Need Is Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The nothing you're meant to do is wrong (that whole bit of the song) is indeed the most powerful to me and states that nothing you do is wrong as long as there is love, and yes...it does give us somewhat of a higher purpouse if you think like that. | |
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Paul is still alive, he has a solo career, and that would be pretty hard these days to fake being somebody else.... Also, all four beatles were the greatest in their own right...neither one was "better" or "worse" they just had different talents. John was much more of an abstract writer who delt with the unexplained and unimaginable. While Paul dealed with the things of passion and love, things we experience but the things that still move us and shape our lives to no end. George was one of the greatest guitar players who ever lived and the best respective to being a part of a band and not a soloist. Ringo was the best drummer who's ever played, the way he fit every note in with the song is incredible and is something that should not be taken lightly. |

HonkeyFire I am the Walrus is not about drugs, although they may have been on it while writing it... I would say they weren't though as it is considering one of Lennon's most poetic passages ever written. I would say this song has to do a lot with a person's mind wandering...as the passage is repeated a lot... |

| The Beatles – Getting Better Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i think the song is jsut about how life gets better little by little and not instantly (no instant gratification) I don't know any history and as to themachine312....you have commented on all the beatles songs i have so far, so there must be something about them you keep writing for... |

| The Beatles – With a Little Help from My Friends Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Bite Me you are a fucking moron, to say the least... Ringo was recently induced into the PAS (Percussive Arts Society) hall of fame because he is the best drumset player whoever lived... And the reasons they gave him the song to sing (as somebody said) is that his voice just suited it...and if it's so easy, why don't you send us a recording of you singing it better... ;) |

| The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Visit_Romania you are an idiot...the beatles were the greatest rock and roll band of all time, their lyrics, songwriting capability, insrument talent, and overal musicality hasn't been surpassed by any band to this date...and the list of bands that have spawned of this one (either directly or 2nd hand) is endless... themachine312 Sgt. Pepper's isn't a band, it was a fake band the beatles made.... As to the song, it seems more like an introduction to a show than anything else... |

| SgtPepperLHCB I am no music theory major (although I am planning to study music in college) the chord is not a missed chord, but simply a minor...or augmented...or something :P | |
| Eagles – Life In The Fast Lane Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| yea, i'm with ab...it's about people who live life to the very fullest....that is drugs and cars and parties etc...but it is starting to catch up with them | |
| Eagles – Desperado Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it's about love and life and how you have to go through life loving the queen of hearts instead of the queen of diamonds...just to reinterate what's already been said | |
| Eagles – Hotel California Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I'm with skakayla...although my favorite song is take it to the limit, because it is a great message of how to value everything you have and use your time well... Anyway, the song is (on the outside) about a guy who gets trapped in a hotel by a hot chick...more or less... :P The explanation about the LA artist scene is very interesting...but somehow I don't think that's it.. |
|
| Eagles – Take It To The Limit Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I have to disagree, I would say the song is more about finding the good thing in life and not letting false senses of freedom and money deter you from real love and precious time... More or less, value what you have and enjoy it while you can. |
|
| Eagles – Take It Easy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Ya, pretty obvious what the song is about...and it is a great song that people should try to apply in real life... the "take it easy" part that is. | |
| The Rolling Stones – Like a Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It was on the album Stripped... "As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And ask him do you want to make a deal?" The song is about making a deal with the devil I think. |

| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Ok, I have discussed this with friends and parents alike...and since I have been a beatles fan and knew what drugs were (beatles came first) I have known this song was about lsd. Whether John Lennon got inspiration from the picture or not, there is no denying that the nonsensicle lyrics point toward drug usage. And, whether this painting exists or not (I have never seen it) the song has not only the acronym to suggest it, but the overall feel that the song is aboug being stoned...remember guys, the beatles did a few drugs in their day... |
