Sounds like the song is getting at someone who is locked in their head, like with insecurities and stuff. Really catchy.
Call me crazy, but does anyone else think this would sound good at the beginning of a Bond movie? Can totally picture the dancing girls, and it seems gritty enough to be able to fit the bill. Or am I just nuts? |

It's from Virtual Sexuality. This song is played in the scene where Laura Fraser's character is dressing herself up to seduce womanizing Alex. Really good choice of song since the melody and lyrics are incredibly seductive and sexy. It's like Imogen Heap is luring you in. |

This song has such elegance, don't you think? reminds me of America in the 1920s, with all these pretty young things throwing away money. Think it's the simplistic, sexy melody and the freshness of the words in the first verse that gives me that impression. Especially the line "so newly charming"....totally reminds me of the beautiful, vain women depicted in The Great Gatsby. Think I'm reading too much into it though!
Such a great song, so seductive! |

My friend was lucky enough to see The Bravery in an intimiate venue here in Glasgow before they got even this big...I really wish I'd seen them now as I've fallen in love with them. I downloaded Unconditional before Christmas and it blew me away. Sam Endicott is also very hot. I always thought this song was about a drunk mishap, like he cheated on his partner or something...interesting to hear some other interpretations too:) |

Haha, misskitty's right - we should lighten up a bit:P It's great that we all derive our own meanings for this song (personally I go for shockdelica's meaning and second that it's a fab song to make out to:) ) but the bottom line is that only Robert Smith reallllly knows the answer as to what this song actually means.
Although, if you listen closely to the whispers he makes when the song is drawing to a close, it does actually sound like he's reciting the first lines of The Spider and The Fly poem. I don't know if I've just listened to this song far too much that i'm starting to make it up now, but it really does sound like he's whispering " 'Come into my parlour', said the spider to the fly...". Maybe I'm just nuts, I dunno:P |

First heard it when I was small too, andwhen I heard it again,a few years later, i was over the moon, because I used to adore it. It sounds sorta folky, like a dream sequence out of a fairytale, don't you think? |

Never mind the meaning...doesn't it make you just want to tap dance your ass off?
Saying that, I think it's about sex ("Do it til you're dizzy/Baby won't you do me like you've done before"), so I'm hopin' it's not about his daughter too:P |

It's so fast, furious and catchy, that it's impossible for anyone to not want to dance whenever this song comes on. Daryl Palumbo's voice sounds so frustrated and growly throughout, it really adds to the feel of the song. One of my fave songs ever, never mind jsut off the CD! |

This song absolutely blows me away. The beginning justifies the end, because you get that sense of anticipation that there's going to be a turning point. Everyone's right - the music and the lyrics work alongside each other perfectly. The anger and burst of emotion that comes out at the end is the best part. When I'm angry, I always blast this song and imagine me darting along the highway at break-neck speed, and it never fails to make me feel better. |

This song is exciting, vibrant, bursting with energy, and bloody amazing. I think both the tune and lyrics describe exactly how it feels to be in the first stages of red hot lust. It's the one song that always makes me want to dance, no matter what mood I'm in. |

To me, it seems like no comment here is wrong. Drug addiction, love addiction, nightmares, depression - all are an obsessive way of thought, in some form. The song sounds creepy, but also thrilling - the way you crave something obsessively although you know it's bad for you. The bit "His arms are all around me..." makes me think of a sexual fixation, whereas the line "On candystripe legs..." makes me think of hallucination. Either way, it all points to obsession from where I'm standing, and is so good that I've become obsessed with listening to it!:P |
