You know when you hear a song for the first time and you're just silent because it leaves you speechless? That's the silence I just experienced. It's cool what is said about walls and fences being higher than redwood trees. Like when you draw fences on either side of a road and they start forming a triangle until they reach the horizon line. They reach higher than the trees. It's such a simple concept written so beautifully. |

I think this song could be about the government. The first stanza could be that he uncovered something the government was hiding and wishing he had never found out. And then when he talks about the nice life, it could mean that politicians are supposed to be upstanding people but in reality they are corrupt (spider?) And then the whole rightwing fashion line, Conservatives in his opinion might be quick to go to war and judge (xenophobia) and in the end of the song he has just decided to give up on trusting in the government. And something else has just come to me. You could consider the government a female spider and the citizens the spider's babies. Certain spiders eat their young....thats deep cuz |

When I first heard this song it was in the background somewhere and I remember hearing the: that's such a lovely color
(it goes with your eyes) part and being totally stunned. I just never heard a song that used that as a line before and i thought it was really clever...as for what the song means, well it seems like a really hard breakup or something and not really having anything to say after it's over. i dont know, im probably wrong, there are always these meanings I miss... |
