i kinda got the feeling that this song about just about the whole new angels and airwaves thing... like everyone will check out the new cd even if it hurts, 'cause of the whole blink split. "if you will come and hear the message everyone wants to learn to love again" like asking for people to listen to him, what he has to say, and if they give it a chance, maybe they'll come to love AVA like they did blink 182. he's just basically saying hold on and give it a chance. that was my initial thought when i heard it.. maybe not. it could also be about a relationship 'cause the "i'll pull you close and then i'll say goodbye" thing doesn't really apply much to the ava situation, unless he's going to suck in loads of fans and then call it a day with angels and airwaves. which i doubt he's trying to tell people in the first song of the first record. i don't know.. just some of my ideas. good song. although i can't wait to see what mark comes up with for plus 44. |

I love this song. Matt sounds incredible. I saw Funeral play last week.. it was the most amazing night. It was a small venue, and Matt and Gareth made the show personal for me, making eye contact and everything. This song was beautiful, it's one of the songs that stands out most in my memory of the show. I just hope they come back to Ireland again. |

I love this song. The line "My head is a carousel of pictures, the spinning never stops." I think everyone's felt that at some point. "Now I've got to crawl to get anywhere at all, I'm not as strong as I thought." This song is so true, everyone wants picked out a crowd, everyone longs to be found.. to be picked out and told that they're important and different, that they're not just another person. It just hits home.. he reminds me of Chris Carrabba a little, I don't know why, I can't explain it, they just seem to know how things are, and how people feel.. it's something incredibly special. |

| The most amazing song I have heard in ages! I saw the lyrics before I heard the song and I was totally in love before I even heard it. It's so beautiful, with incredible lyrics that I always wished I could write. It has such emotional depth, which I always wanted to reach as a songwriter. I suck totally but if I can write one song that reaches someone, even just a friend then I'd be happy. The Ataris are a kick ass band. They have amazing messages that not every band can work into their songs and still pull it off. Like, "The hardest part isn't finding who we need to be, it's being content with who you are." Not all bands can get away with that, the Ataris manage it and still come out looking awesome. They own. | |

I love Dashboard, this was one of the first songs I ever heard, after Hands Down. The line "These roads go on forever, there'll always be a place for you in my heart" gets me everytime. Chris has a way of singing the song that no other person could, he's incredible. The lyrics tear you apart, they're so full of emotion, not just in this one but all of D/C's songs. Long distance relationships are so hard, this song represents that, you need all you can to remind yourself of the person that you fell in love with - "Pouring over photographs. I'm living in your letters. Breathe deeply from this envelope it smells like you and I can't be without that scent. It's filling me with all you mean to me, to me." Totally incredible. Dashboard are so unknown here in Ireland, it's such a waste of a awesome band. |
