| Thrice – Lockstep Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| nope, it's not even on 'first impressions' (1999). the very first edition of 'identity crisis' (2000) had an extra track called 'madman' (also a good one), but 'lockstep' wasn't on either of these releases. don't rightly remember where it appeared, but until thrice comes out with a b-sides collection you're better off just finding the mp3. | |
| Thrice – Lockstep Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's an old unreleased B-side. www.waterispoison.com will get you most every one of them. | |
| Millencolin – Lozin' Must Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yeah so I'm swedish and "Lozin' Must" is a direct and meaningless translation of our expression "tappa musten", which basically means losing your motivation. | |
| The Juliana Theory – Liability Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| When touring around 2002-2003, Brett would take his shirt off during the climax to expose a T-Shirt with the text "No War" =) so there's an obvious connection to George W. Bush Jr. here. But all of "Music from Another Room" consists of old leftover songs, so it was probably originally written during the Clinton scandals. | |
| Thrice – A Subtle Dagger Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Or you could flip it over and say that it is the pinnacle of arrogance to think that nothing can exist beyond the grasp of the "superior" human intellect. There are colors which certain animals perceive which we can never see. Wether or not you believe in ANY higher power, most people can agree that we are not perfect beings, and as such we probably don't see much of the big picture. And the one flaw you can admit to science then is that it doesn't work outside this scope of ours. | |
| Sigur Rós – Jósef Tekur Fimmuna í Ninnuna Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Thank you Eugene | |
| Sleeping At Last – Needle & Thread Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is the song that sold the band to me. The thesis of the song is remensicent of the one in The Juliana Theory's song "Everything", one of love in abundance. | |
| The Juliana Theory – Everything Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song and these lyrics make me want to live. | |
| Ted Bond – The Hypothetical Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of the greatest lyrics ever composed if you ask me. Fucking depressing song, but it touches close to home. | |
| Propagandhi – Haillie Sellasse, Up Your Ass Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Haven't read it myself, because I am not a christian, but I know about the apocrypha that was descredited or expelled for one reason or another. The bible is pretty much patchwork. | |
| Elliott – Song In The Air Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Yeah I eventually got the DVD. | |
| Propagandhi – Haillie Sellasse, Up Your Ass Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
@JohnnyTheMohawk You're missing the point. I was talking about editions and the supposed dillution of the original manuscript, I know how they compiled it. I don't need another history lesson by some random atheist runt on the internet. |

| Further Seems Forever – Light Up Ahead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh yeah, and this is a sweet song. You can't help but thinking of the lyrics as being all about God and death. Especially when you've seen the video. I for one prefer Jon's vocals over both Jason and Chris, but the lyrics ARE a bit bland compared to the elder ones. | |
| Further Seems Forever – Light Up Ahead Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| itellthetruth; go fuck yourself you self-appointed intellectual prick. My using swearwords, or anyone else's for that matter, does in no way discredit out thoughts. Just because you're a pussy who can't handle us saying "fuck" every now and then when the situation calls for it does NOT mean our thoughts on the lyrics are any less valid. Spelling is one thing when taking a post seriously, your lack of longhand is another, but my cussing only accounts into it if you are a prudent goddamn nun or something. I'm being harsher here than usual, but you've insulted our collective intelligence. | |
| Propagandhi – Haillie Sellasse, Up Your Ass Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| oh please | |
| Thrice – A Subtle Dagger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I guess anyone can get any kind of meaning out of something. But looking at every other songs Dustin ever wrote, you have to come to terms with the fact that your idol here is a devout christian. Anything else would be absurd, considering songs like this one, "To What End" "The Abolition of Man" and "A Torch To End All Torches". Not aimed at you specifically here, but there are just WAAAAY to many people here grasping desperately at straws, trying to fool themselves that Thrice are ahteist like them. |

| Thrice – Music Box Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Holy fuck people, don't you ever get tired of stinking up the conversation with religionbashing? Every damn song they ever wrote talks about a greater force, unseen love, the depressing thought of carbon and chemicals, hopelessness in a scientific universe and so forth. You can't discredit ALL their songs to have a greater hidden scientific meaning underneath their obviously christian exterior. Most bands with this kind of message say they're not christian, but that's because their agenda is more about philosophy and identity crises, and because the whole scene is so fucked-up that you automatically lose out if you do adapt that label. So you only call yourself that if your agenda is worship. It says so in the FAQ, yes, we've heard it. Just pay more attention to what they're saying outside of the FAQ and all this should be plain to see. Or scream your head off and make an ass of yourself, it's your call =D Really, read "To What End" and think about what they're saying about atheism there. |

| Mae – We're So Far Away Lyrics | 19 years ago |

You shouldn't be so surprised about the christian aspect to it. Take a look at one of Dave's older lyrics; http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=104103 |

| Simple Plan – Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| funny shit | |
| Yellowcard – Avondale Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Alright, listen up, kiddies; The lyrics from the bridge "I stuck a knife into his back..." refers to Inspection 12's song "Doppelganger". The lyrics are pretty much a response to those; I12: "So pull your knife out of my back..." YC: "I stuck a knife into his back..." I12: "...Inventiveness is what you lack..." YC: "...Inventiveness is what I lack..." I12: "...And I won't stand for this disloyalty" YC: "...He's always hanging up on loyalty" Look up Doppelganger(meaning body-double, or exact copy). It seems to be song about Yellowcard being a ripoff on Inspection 12. "It's all that you can do to make your way Up to the threshold where we are today And I'm the one who tries to save Integrity, but it's too late. So pull your knife out of my back Inventiveness is what you lack And I won't stand for this disloyalty. No need to read between the lines You've screwed me one too many times Out with the old you, you're becoming me. The clones just took control by backbiting Your pride grabs hold of you, and sets you free And I'm the one you feed off of And I can't smell the avarice." And Avondale (name after where they both used to live) is Yellowcard's response. We know they've kissed and made up by now, but this is what the songs are about. It's pretty much a dialogue. NOT about love, breakup, betrayal and backstabbing girlfriends. |

| 50 Cent – Fuck Dat Bitch Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i ponder the meaning of these "lyrics". "Fuck you bitch! leave me alone, walk on...get the fuck on..." what are dickwads like these doing on this site anyways? shit, man, you shouldn't make music if you have absolutely NOTHING to say... |
|
| Propagandhi – Ladies' Nite in Loserville Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| propagandhi are lovely as always. so pissed off =) | |
| Propagandhi – Haillie Sellasse, Up Your Ass Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| actually, it hasn't been altered at all. comparisons between the bible today and the original scrolls show very, VERY little difference. basically just translations that could be better. | |
| Elliott – Song In The Air Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
i'd say these lyrics are perfect. especially that heartwrenching last revelation; "maybe you're the same without me". i miss these guys... last christmas, i heard something about a elliott dvd in production. it was gonna be live vidoes, discarded songs, behind the scenes footage and whatnot. but i guess it went to nothing =( |
|
| Craig's Brother – Masonic Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this is cb's vocalist, ted bond, in a duet with dan mclintock, who wrote these lyrics, and was in the band at the time. remember to check his own band, inspection 12, out. | |
| Craig's Brother – Divorce Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
actually, the whole christian debate is stupid. they've written loads of song on christian themes. this one, i do not know. a lot of people think it's about church, but i just think of it as a song about separation. and the ultimate one to that. the lyrics are so good they're creepy. |
|
| Craig's Brother – Who Am I? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| funny story. the one who renamed the mp3, back in the napster-days, was actually steven, their old guitarist =) he figured they'd get noticed by downloaders that way. it worked. | |
| Craig's Brother – My Annie Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| adam hates these old lyrics. i can see why, but i still love these. "like charlie chaplain, like clapping one hand, my love cannot be heard"... | |
| Craig's Brother – Bad Marriage Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i don't know the hidden meaning of this song. only that the "dusty volume filled with words strange beyond comprehension that is rectifying my life" is obviously the bible. | |
| Craig's Brother – Head In A Cloud Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| these lyrics are pretty personal. i don't remember much of the story, but i think it's a lot about andy sneider (old bandmember), who was on bad terms with the band at this time. and also, about a lagwagon show they went too, where they were pretty damned disheartened by the killer performance, and thought they would never, ever be as good as joey cape and co. but they wouldn't give up. | |
| Craig's Brother – E.p.issdumbology Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this one's pretty obvious, only ted expresses it as well as always. | |
