So, I'm pretty sure this website is called songmeanings, for a reason. Obviously, part of it is to debate what you think the song is about, but you left a certain part of that out: the song meaning. And all you did was rant and rave. And it completely makes sense to think this song might be about bondage.
Black plastic could refer to pleather, which is quite popular amongst bondage enthusiasts, and both partners in the situation wear it. Therefore, black plastic touching black plastic.
And boy/black plastic chair could represent his being bonded to a chair
and "with time to spare" because they always take so damn long to get what they want from the dominatrix. |

Kurt Cobain had originally wrote this, and gave it to Courtney Love after they married. Nirvana did a version of it, but it was an instrumental with some scratchy background vocals. Then, later, when Hole recorded it, Courtney Love wrote her own lyrics for the music. |

I agree with elles. But at the same time, it's about how most people just want to make a mark and want to be remembered, and don't really care about anything else.
Hence the line, "i want a revolution/you wanna make your mark"
It's about how she wants things to change, but everyone else just wants their recognition.
And honestly, if anyone has pioneered feminist music, alt. rock, and some forms of electronica, it's been Kathleen Hanna, and not enough people seem to realize this. She has done so much for music, and for the rights of women, gays/lesbians/bis/transgenders, and many other things. She's one of the only people who really sing about their lives and their beliefs, irregardless of if she thinks people will listen. |
