| Lagwagon – The Kids Are All Wrong Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think that the first line "watching cars....it's gone" is a metaphor for the next line "heros die...never stay". A hero that dies off is a father that leaves, because a father figure is suppose to be a hero figure, and when fathers leave, it's the same as a hero dying off. But sometimes kids can't accept the reality."hopeless opinions" probably refers to hopeless thoughts of getting their hero back. And that being all that he has learned is saying like learning a huge life lesson from acknowledging this reality. | |

If it means anything, Evangeline is a city in Louisiana. But i'm not sure if it's meant to be that, actually, it's probably not suppose to be that. Anywayas, here's a more viable (if not unfinished/broken theory): To evangelize is to preach faith. Maybe an "evangiline" is a person who does, or perhaps the act of evangelizing. Either way, if you look at the chorus, it could show of how these preachers are good at what they do, but maybe not good enough to fool everybody. The phrase, "lend me your faith..." may show that greg is obviously lacking in faith. Asking for the other person's faith may be a sign of the impossiblilty of converting him. (that's going out on a limb, kinda loose). But I'm not sure of the rest of the song, It's kinda cryptic IMO. |

| Yea, actually, you're interpretation makes a lot of sense... | |
| Bad Religion – The Empire Strikes First Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I'm gonna agree with you on that certain point, but I think this song has a more universal theme too. True, the "ten million souls" part refers to the Iraqi conflict, but I think the whole song touches upon how war will always be a part of human society, even though there will be lull times. | |
| Bad Religion – We're Only Gonna Die Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This short message, I think, describes the cycle of human evolution as of now. The dominant man always will win over the lesser man, even though both the groups have the same goal. Then it shows how the greater, modern, man destroy's himself and his own kind because he has the one goal of conquest. | |

Yes, it is a good song, but what BR song isn't? As for their best, (as good as it is)it's definatly not on this album. Along the way tops my list, along with Fuck Armageddon... This Is Hell, and Suffer (and a few more of course), but that's stictly a matter of opinion. Onto the song: I belive this is about a search for a better place than either America, Earth, or society itself. My thoughts are kinda loose and incomplete right now, but the verse, "And I know I can't explain..." shows how mankind is destroying themselves over completly stupid reasons, and that's they've been doing it for a long time. And how it's really happening, but there doesn't seem to be a clear reason for it. I'm not sure on what it really means yet, but that's what i've got so far. |

| Bad Religion – Sinister Rouge Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I think this song has a few themes. The first verse may be about war, and how pointless and brutal it is. the first two lines about how soldiers die, then cannot have proper burials because of whatever circumstances. The last two lines probably show how one man's views and beliefs can be taken and used over the sands of time. The second verse is something of the sort to go against the extreme hypocricy in religion. The priests and them did have many meetings to look at the situation with the molestations and they also were very private too. And my interpretation on the last verse is kinda loose, but here goes: I believe that it talks about how the words of the bible "Give us this day..." ring throughout history, and the works of God show everywhere, but that the "Modern world" does not need/want a religion or God. I'm also not too sure about eh chorus either, but all i've go so far is something about sinster rouge refering to evil blood or something of that sort. |

| Bad Religion – God's Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This may be one of the more literal songs done by BR. It really is straight-forward (IMO) saying that all athiests and christians alike experiance the same torments and suffering, but they have different ways of interpriting them. | |

Well, if you've seen the "Along the Way" DVD, the Bad Religion sign is actually against all institutions that limit and control thought, which include (but are not limited to) religion, nationalistic views, etc. And the God theme may be prominent in this song too. The beginning "like a rock..." could refer to a God who is apathetic to all the stuff that happens in this world because he/she's seen it all before and it's nothing new to them. It may also be about a desenisitized public who has seen everything before, so it stops affecting them, but that theory is real loose, for me at least. |
