OKay, I've got a very specific meaning for everyone: "And I blame myself cause I make things hard and you're just trying to help And when I wake up you're the first to call" To me, there's more than just a song deadline here. It's more than just his loss for words; there are other people possibly meaning the rest of the band or a girl? I'm not really sure. But this person/people care about him and want to help him but he's unappreciative and difficult. Also, the whole procrastination thing is insane, I love it. I'm the queen of procrastination, I NEVER do anything on time so I can relate to it in the sense that I'm never on track and I never feel like I'm on the same page as every one else. I'm constantly frustrated. |

| This song is about how a lot of things and people are generalized and closed off (Is everything a baited hook? And are there locks on all doors?). And finding someone who wants the same things: someone to open up to, to go crazy with (animals, swinging from tree to tree, set you free, etc) It's about finding out that this person is exactly what you've been looking for and hoping to try them out and find out if they could want you too. He knows he's better off without her and that things would be better for him if she stopped writing to him and keeping in touch. | To me, it sounds like the singer has been broken up with or someone has severed their ties with him and hurt him terrribly. The words "anthem of our dying day" means that it feels as though after they broke up with him or whatever it felt like the entire world was falling apart and in a way it had killed them both. Also, "this is the moment that I live for" means that he's wanted to rub it in this person's face and wanted to tell them exactly how this feels for quite a while. His only pleasure would be to demonstrate to this person the exact pain they've put him through-this otherworldly pain. | |
