Why do you think "Needle in the Hay" was chosen for that scene in The Royal Tenenbaums? Maybe that has something to do with what the song means. |

"stared at like lepers" makes perfect sense... lepers were the epitome of disgust. lepers were often stared at because of their abnormality. "the moon bleeds sliver" is what i thought too.. as for "the sad act like lepers"... if any of you bright eyes fans actually owned his cds you might actually know what his lyrics are... for that is the correct one. <3 |

This was one of the first bright eyes songs i heard that got me addicted to Conor and his writing...
Another song that I love that is by a completely different band, is Pg. 99 "The Lonely Waltz of Leonard Cohen". It as well has the same creepy waltz characteristic I love... if anyone else knows another song similar to these please share.
My favorite line from this song is "You're either coming or you just left, but you are always on the way"
