Not what I would have expected from the frontman of The Union Underground but somewhere along the lines of a decade has passed and I'm not complaining. Dope's songs, sometimes, (please tool/soad/apc fans don't massacre me over this) can be metaphorical like tool or APC. Whether or not it's what the song means, oh well. If you delve deeper, it could be sex in a more emotional sense. You love the person, but the chemistry between you two is the best you've ever experienced.... sounds like my wife and I :D |

for those who aren't sure about the last part of the song, it seems pretty obvious to me, if my speculations are correct. hunting, stalking, but the killing nothing part is what I don't get. Hunting them down, stalking them, but not killing them (yet?) perhaps? |

This song reminds me of a situation as well. Me and my ex were engaged and she didn't know if it was the right thing to do (although I was the best thing that ever happened to her) so we split up to make sure this was right. She came back saying that she was sure this time. Same thing happened again. It appears to me that it's about someone that doesn't know what they want and is too ignorant or scared to see what is best for them. They also don't realize that they can't keep it up "Your chances fade away... Maybe you're oblivious inside" . The person on the other side of the fence doesn't want to let go or give up although they are taking all this punishment (the first verse) |

I would have to say that I'm quite depressed that there are teenie boppers out there that can sing along with the song, but I guess that comes with popularity. Heard this song when the cd came out and it was instantly my 2nd favorite. My idea is that this song is about someone that didn't do anything to anyone and is getting fucked over left and right. They are tired of fixing everything for everyone so said person is running away from everything to be somewhere where they won't be hurt needlessly anymore. |

This song is one of my favorite off of the new cd. 4 months after breaking up with my girlfriend of 3 years I heard this song and knew right away that it embodied everything that I felt. Especially "Just stay until we know we tried one more time". I told her that I wanted her to listen to this song and now we're giving it one more try. |
