This song is about putting yourself on the line for someone. He has sacraficed everything for them, so thats what he means by: "I'd retrace the steps that lead me here but nothing lives behind me" He has burnt all his bridges and has nobody else to turn to, possible as a result for giving everything he has for this person. Now he has nothing left to lose, and can only wonder if they will be a dream come true and love him back. or will they let him down, and leave him with nothing. I think the "3 tears i've saved for you" means that he knows there is a chance of being let down, so in a way he is prepared for the tears that will follow it. Im kinda in the exact same situation right now, im sacraficing everything for a girl, but i dont know if she'll be there for me in the end. i love this song :) |
