for apacherosepeacock, I heard somewhere that the song is about getting caught in the lies you tell, so the line "lie amongst your lies like tuna in the brine" is accepting the level you've sunken to as you live with the lies you've told

this song is strangely mine and my boyfriend's song... probably not because of the meaning of the song, but just the deepness of the lyrics, and the "pretty rock"-sound. It's one of those depressing songs that makes you happy. I love the movie Cruel Intentions and I can't think of a more fitting song to start it with.

about the video.... it's Fight Club-esque. The whole idea of one person having so much control over another person, and a higher person controlling that one. It's like the song too. The girl has so much control over the guy, but he doesn't realise it until that moment. As for a deeper meaning (the basic meaning is very good, and very clear) it can be compared to the media... just think how much the media influences us everyday, and most of the time we don't think of the massive power it has.. yikes, great song!
