The thing I love about the Weakerthans is how song after song, they speak of experiences that are familiar to me and, I imagine most other ordinary folks as well. The songs are all about the everyday experiences and events that constitute the majority of our lives.
This song captures the experience of leaving a place better than any other I've heard. It's beautiful. |

I like this song, it has a sort of je ne sais quoi to it. My wife almost died of meningitis, and still has scars up and down her legs from it.... so I try and avoid playing it around here :S. |

The video offers a very interesting perspective of the song, when the old bald guy goes into a house, while thumbing money in an envelope and looks around at the sun in an empty room. That, combined with the references to the decay of the North End made me think that we see the song through the bald guys perspective, and the song he's singing is sort of a general lament for the loss of the North End. |

I figure, this song is about a couple that had a one night stand that met again in an unrelated circumstance. There was never nothing deep between them, and thats why theres noting to save. |
