My interpretation: "For that, I wait for the perfect time, to take what's frankly mine." <--- 100% sure You pay the dumb to defy me, You said you don't want to buy me. You wait, you're dumber than anyone. Oh well... The last bit not too sure something like that I slowed it right down but it's so damn garbled :( However pave doesn't make sense does it? pave the dumb? |

| I think it is supposed to be confusing as not only was it written about Jon taking drugs but when he was actually on them. Take the contradiction of "I can see I'm going blind". I think the whole song is like Jon going crazy because his real life is shit, and to escape it he uses the drugs, which cause 'another kind of pain' Personally the third verse brings to mind the whole 'Mr Rogers' perfect world which of course is an illusion created in the sordid and cruel real world; this he can never find. eeyore could be right, he might say "sane" instead of "sign", but "sign" could also fit with a divorce scenario ie he is being forced to divorce her and he doesn't want to. Also it is most definitely "So I fall face down in a rut", so change it dammit! Excellent song btw Jon if you are reading this maybe you can tell us about the sane/sign bit? |
