This was the first counting crows song I ever heard. I think it's wonderful. It's too jumpy to be a depressing song despite the lyrics. I think it's about a lack of faith and realising that no matter what people tell you, you'll always remember how you and you alone feel. 'Don't try to bleed me, I've been here before' The line 'I can't go outside because I'm scared I might not making it home' reminds me alot of myself. He says about sinking in, I think this symbolises a depression pit. But hell what do I know. |

I don't think this is about a prostitute or a slut. I think it's about a girl who's paranoid and scared of being left alone, so she takes what chances she can at being with someone, even if it is through sex. ' afraid she'll awake to find she's all alone' That line does it for me. She makes an escape from her unhappiness by betting on horses and is always dreaming of them running wild. Something beautiful inside of her that never get's recognised. |
