| my first thought was abortion..... :-\.... the part where it says,"never work without your gloves..." i thought of a doctor perfoming an abortion... and the "ghosts of lesser humans" as unborn babies becuause many people don't consider them to be truly humans until they are born. "your actions all are justified"... they justify there actions by saying that you're not human until you are born. and the part where it says, "don't we all bleed the same red blood?..." i think he's trying to say that unborn babies are still human and it's still murder... i might be way off but that's what i got out of it. could be war too.... | |

okay... if you read through the book of proverbs, Solomon mentions over and over one woman... representing wisdom. in the particular chapter that this song is taken from (proverbs 9) two women are mentioned... temptation or sin and wisdom again. the phrase "stolen water is sweet" basically means that sin feels good... it appeals to your flesh and you like it. this is said by the 2nd woman (sin/temptation). the 2nd woman goes for those who are trying to make their paths straight (trying to live right lives). earlier in the chapter the 1st woman (wisdom) is mentioned as building her house in the "heights of the city" and calling out to "those who lack understanding" to "come, eat of my food". i think it is obvious what this song means to Dustin... temptation/sin and regret. it could specifically mean sexually immoral sin, but i dont' find it to be likely. but just because this song means something to me or whoever else doesn't mean it has to mean the same thing to you. i think that artists/songwriters intend for their viewers/listeners to interpret their works the way they want to and to make each of their works a personal thing. and i certainly don't think they want their fans arguing over the meaning of their songs... just my opinion |
