I reckon this song is from the perspective of George on Seinfeld, in the episodde when Elaine throws his wig out the window. Some is directed to Elaine and some is his feelings about his complicated relationship with the wig. |

I love this song. One of my fave's on the album.
It seems to me to be about missing someone. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – This Charming Man (The Smiths cover) Lyrics

This wouldn't be that bad a cover if they'd left the lyrics the way the were.
"On Two bicycles"?
"Under this charming car"?
It just sounds ridiculous. And if your going to change something in a Smiths song, why oh why choose the lyrics? |

I absolutely adore this song. I can't make an intelligent comment on what I think this song means, so I'm going to leave it at that. |

The guitar riff is fantastic. If the standard of the lyrics was why I listen to Him i'd be a little worried..But its a good song.
And StarveUrFear...There is nothing wrong with getting into a band because you saw them on mtv. Surprise suprise, thats how most people end up listening to a band- Hearing them through the media. I started listening to HIM after seeing Wicked Game on a music video program. Wow, what a poseur bitch I am. And as for hating/liking HIM based on one song..You've heard one you've heard them all. |

This song is great.
Really, who cares if the guy from franz ferdinand is gay, really, get over it.
This song is funny and extremely well written. But if the 'gayness' offends you, thats fair enough. i wouldnt listen to a song about small minded homophobic assholes. |

This song has also made an appearance in the brilliant show 'Arrested Development', when halfway through singing this song with his neice at a party the guy realises what it's actually about. |

This song is amazing. i heard this song in the movie Saved!, where it was used to great effect.
Because of how it was used in the movie, my first impression of what this song was about, was people doubting their faith-"And trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in"
Aswell as the chorus of course, and I interpreted the
"Cause if i find
If i find my own way
How much will i find"
part in the same way. |

I got the impression that it was about a relationship falling apart. Maybe one where one or both parties know it isn't working out, but cant seem to end it-"I can't get out
There's no way out of here" |

Poor guy, he forgot to study. Lucky he has his brilliant song writing skills to fall back on. Jesus christ this song is pathetic. God must hate me? What the fuck? And what is all this relating bullshit. Anyone can write a song that someone else can relate to, it doesn't mean they should have written it and released this bullshit for everyone else to hear. How could someone over the age of 10 possibly write this song and not be immediatly embarrassed. |

Your constructive criticism and flawless grammer has made me reconsider my habit of mocking the pile o' shit that is Simple Plan. Thankyou Laura.
And as for the meaning of this song, i'd say it's about the relationship problems when he was six years old. Wah wah wah. |

Does anyone else think the video for this song is really good? It goes with the denial interpretation of the song, If you haven't seen it, it's about someone digging up a loved one of some sort, having dinner with him and getting romantic, pretending he's still alive. |

| A Perfect Circle – Pet Lyrics

Just because the album is called thirteenth step, it doesn't automatically make every song on it about drugs. Sure it could be, but it's more of a stretch to interpret this song to be about drugs than politics. The war drums, swaying to the rythm of the new world order, sounds awfully political. I'm not going to let the name of the damn album influence my interpretation of the song.
I had an idea about the "dont love you son" bit. I saw that line as part of the protecting the child because he knows best, and convincing him that others are evil and he cares more and has his best interests in mind, where others dont. Hence the "other ones, the evil ones, dont love you son" But that's just going with my parent/child metaphor for government/followers theory. |

Although I love the Devo version of this song I think this one is also a great song. The lyric changes make this song more along the lines of what the rest of the album is about, but I still think they should have stayed true to the Devo version. Because, really it's great. |
