| Ozma – Domino Effect Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Ok, when did a discussion about an Ozma song become a differential equations analysis? Anyway, the song is definitely about how one thing leads to another leads to another leads to another, and SOMETIMES it gets you back where you started ("hold me like long ago"). I think the whole song is summed up in the last phrase. Also, does anyone know what the fourteenth domino is? Why fourteen? |

| Blink-182 – The Girl Next Door (Screeching Weasel cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I know Screeching Weasel wrote it. But why did Blink182 release it first? Who recorded it first? Kill the Musicians and Buddha were probably recorded in an overlapping time frame. In any case, don't be a dick cuz someone didn't know it was Screeching Weasel that wrote it. It was covered VERY close to its written date, so anyone could have made that mistake. Oh yeah, the song is really great, a total absurdist song. Screeching Weasel's version is much better, so check it out if you haven't. |

| Blink-182 – Toast & Bananas Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is such a great song! Just a guy pissed that he got dumped and saying "Fuck you! I don't wanna be 'just friends' with you! It's my turn to be immature. And I don't care what you think of me now! Muahahaha!!!" | |
| Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't mind emo songs or depression songs or songs that make no goddamned sense (ok, those kinda tick me off). But really, it's a terrible guitar riff, a really predictable song, and it wouldn't hurt to have Mark sing IN HIS VOCAL RANGE! | |
| Blink-182 – Stay Together for the Kids Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's just a badly written song. Don't get me wrong, I support the message they're sending, but shit be a little more tactful. If you're gonna claim you're fucking artists, present your message so everyone understands, not just the handful that fit into the song's title. | |
| Blink-182 – Josie Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Alyssa Milano was so hot in the video! The gf in the song is kickass! |

| Blink-182 – Family Reunion Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song was released to make the new generation of Blink182 fans feel like they're being bad, listening to that "punk rock" with their potty mouths and always running around naked on stage. Oh, how quirky for a punk band! Wait... wait, what? They're not punk anymore? But they're saying bad words! |

| Blink-182 – Carousel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Carousel kicks ass. It's about life at a confusing and complex time in a person's life. Nothing makes sense, and even when you have what you need you still feel like something's missing. I went to a Blink182 concert about four years back and they played this as their last song of the night. The funniest part was that only maybe 1/4 of the crowd had ever heard the song! It wasn't til this song that the old school fans came out. A band saves their best song for last right? So if Carousel is Blink182's best song, why don't they write more GOOD songs like this?! |

| Blink-182 – M+M's Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Such a great Blink182 song! It just sums up so many feelings about a great relationship. The guy obviously wants to be with the girl all the time cuz she makes him happy. And of course, verse 2 reminds us that the guy is a real LOSER and doesn't deerve this great girl. But he doesn't really know what she thinks til he gets the balls to just ask her out already. This is what I loved about old Blink 182 music. They weren't pretentious in their wording and they really tried hard to write complex and fun punk music. They had simple messages. Maybe it was something that they lost in age, like feelings that they'll never have again. They should stop trying, cuz it's confusing the hell out of the rest of us who have to say "I only like old Blink182, cuz the new stuff sucks". |

| Blink-182 – Strings Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It's about not letting your significant other control your life. And if they are, then you're not really a part of the relationship right? And if that's the case, you're better off not being there. | |
| Blink-182 – Dancing with Myself (Billy Idol cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It's about beatin' the meat! And for Blink 182, it was about giving props to Billy Idol for teaching us all that it's okay to dance with yourself! |

| Blink-182 – Dumpweed Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
The problem with Blink 182 isn't that they're mislabeled as punk, it's that their music sucks balls now. And it started with THIS album. I've never heard a drummer overplay as much as Travis Barker; he clearly ruined Blink182's sound . Yes Mark is a bad bassist and Tom is a bad guitarist, but that didn't matter when they wrote Carousel, M&Ms, Toast and Bananas, Untitled, Dammit... remember, when they were good? As for this song, it's the best song on the cd (not saying much). It appears to be about how girls are just unpredictable, and how he wishes they were just simpler. In typical "new Blink" style, he also MUST demean women by comparing them to a trainable puppy. |

| Blink-182 – All the Small Things Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This song sucks balls... from a techincal perspective I mean. I don't care who he wrote the song for, but who the fuck knows what this song is about?! It makes no sense. It sounds like some studio producer wrote it. Who in their right mind would use the word "commiserating" if not for its rhyming and "what the hell does that big word mean" values. I may hate the band that Blink182 has become, but it's because of trash music like this. The saddest part is that this was one of the better songs off the album. Yes, I did listen to the whole album to get an objective view of where they were going. But they've done so much better. Case in point, they would never have made it as a punk band (like they DID a long time ago) with music like this. One more thing, what the fuck was up with the synthesizers during the bridge? Just... why? Why?! |

| Weezer – No Other One Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is a really funny song. The girl treats him like crap and scares the crap out of him! This is even evident in the way he sings the song (a really high-pitched, fearful tone). But he still wants her! And the best part is that she wants him too! Otherwise she wouldn't spend so much time with him. The sorta depressing part of the song is summed up in one line: "...and we don't wanna be alone". Their whole relationship is based on a mutual lonliness. Then again, maybe he just met her and found out all this disturbing stuff about her and is just imagining a deep connection. |

| Weezer – Devotion Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It's about a guy who has a really close friend. She likes him as more than a friend but he doesn't feel the same way. He outlines the reasoning (she's not smart like his type, and he's not big like her type). The pushing her away is when he was going out with other girls. The take home point is that even when he wasn't giving her the attention he should've (as a friend), she was still there. He also says that she'll always be his girlfriend, like she should know she means a lot to him even if they're not a romantic couple. I think the point of saying he'll be her "friend" is just to make it clear he just wants to be friends. |

| Weezer – I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
It's just Rivers taking the girl's perspective. It's the same concept as a lot of other Weezer songs: someone admitting they messed up. The girl in the song is just falling apart. I don't know any particular reason Rivers decided to take the female perspective. Maybe just a change of pace. Maybe the female presence gave the song an additional sensitivity and vulnerability. Oh yeah, and I love the bassline to this song. |

| Weezer – Getchoo Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I really hate this song and I skip it every time. It's the only track I don't like off of Pinkerton. But I think I know why... It seems more like the whole album focuses on Rivers' vulnerability. This is the only song where he's on the offensive, where he's the one hurting someone else and he other person doesn't understand him. It's a well written song technically, but I just can't get into it in the context of the album. |

| The Offspring – Hand Grenades Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
First of all, the song is called hand grenades... it's about making hand grenades... from common things around the house. Second, Dexter was a microbiologist (never finished), so I don't think he's showing off his knowledge. I really think he just thinks it's cool to destroy stuff for fun. |
