I think this song is about recovering from an addiction. Here's why: when he says, "And thinking about how you sold your soul To send the rain away," I think he's referring to the use of drugs as a means to "send the rain away" and referring to selling your soul as being addicted to something. When he says, "It's been so long since I've stood on my two feet," I think he means it's been a long time since he was able to think for himself, because of some addiction. He may use the lyric "and I swallow my pride" as a metaphor for swallowing a pill. Just my two cents. |
