Opeth is one of the most original bands of all time. All of their songs are epic, and their length adds to that effect. Feels like each song is a different story, in each its own unique atmosphere. As far as this song goes, i get the impression of somewhere out in the woods. Very cold place, lots of trees. Anyways, great song. |

| kenicky, NIN's song has a bit more thought to it. Of course both songs are talking about sex, but these lyrics could of very well been done in 20 minutes. A talking parrot could have come up with a bigger vocabulary. The song is so predictable, and that's why most music lovers poke fun at it. "Closer" talks about the reasons and outcomes of sex, whereas this simply describes raging teenage hormones. If your gonna talk about sex, at least have a bit of class like NIN. | |

Sounds like they're talking about someone who's been in jail for a very long time, or somewhere along those lines. "I can't recall my crime" Somethings holding this guy back from starting life again, and i think it's bars. And well how prison is dark and cold; the sun doesn't rise "damaged in our own way, alone in our own way. Distant headlights, desolate highway". Anyways, it's just my way of interpreting it. |

Wow, finally a Canadian band that can produce VERY decent metal. Sounds like a combination of Opeth and Lamb of God, with Maiden-ish lyrics. I really hope to hear more from these guys. As far as the lyrics go, they seem to be capturing the last few thoughts of a convicted man sentenced to death... deprived, hopeless and ready to die. |
