day after the bigoted jerry falwell has died. kinda feel obligated to post now, seeing as he once said Jesus "was the first American."

ooh, wow, should we lay flowers at your altar for having listened to live stuff from the 20s? that is just too cool. clearly you know more than us peons, you with your qualifying and unsubstantiated comments lieke "not as good by far." man, i bet you even peer review. kick ASS. |

is it necessarily just a joke? most sparks lyrics tend to have a grain of truth to them, or at least they're grounded in something real. i get the impression that this is an overdone version of a song that stems from a genuine emotion. pretty interesting premise as well. they don't take themselves seriously, but that doesn't mean their songs are always nonsensical. |

Jackanory, possibly from the old English poem:
I'll tell you a story
about Jack-a-nory;
and now my story's begun.
I'll tell you another
'bout Jack and his brother;
and now my story is done.
Anyhow, great song, lots of fun. The meaning is pretty self-exp, but I love the chorus and the clever rhymes. |

One of my favorite songs by my favorite band ever. I wish Paul could write more songs like this in his solo career. I think Aimee Mann and Michael Penn's cover is as good as the original though. I almost never think so about covers, let alone a Beatles one. Check that one out too. |

Quiff, it's awsome you mention bout the instrumental bit there. That's one of my favorite moments in music, when you expect George to sing "see the love, there that's sleeping" but the guitars drown that away, sort of in resentment. One of my first favorite Beatles' tunes. |

Beatles cover...beautifully written. The Beatles are my favorite band of all time, and I still think this cover's as good as the original. |

This song is beautifully written and sang. There's so much pain in it, but it remains poignantly sad. It depresses me and makes me feel better at the same time, because someone has felt it all before. |

Absolutely beautiful. I found this on accident, as it was listed as Radiohead - True Love Waits on a p2p program. I am very glad I found this song. It is at once poignantly sad, beautiful, tragic, nostalgic, and uplifting. Wonderful. |
