Gospel singer, yes. She was basically just told to let loose and go for it. But after the recording, she walked out the room to the guys and said "I'm so sorry I fucked that up"! |

Ever seen the Touring Band video for this? It's just the band having a great time doing all sorts of stuff. 'Three crooked hearts. Swirls all around' puzzles me though... |

I dunno, but I quite like it. It took a while, though. Best with headphones to get the full errie effect. |

Sorry fleaaaaaa - I think these lyrics are great. Best played up LOUD. Somehow I get a sense that Ed is quite proud of this song, especially when I saw him in Melbourne. Hey, you 2003 guys above - what do you think now that it's soooo obvious Bush lied through his crooked teeth? |

So did I. I'm pretty sure it's "never let me be right", and "if just once I could feel love, i'd say it like I mean it". How can we submit a change? Anyways, I love the live versions of this just as much. Very powerful. |

OK, time to set the record straight! This was purely a Split Enz song. Split Enz ('nz' for New Zealand, where I'm from) originated in the early 70's. Tim Finn later invited his younger brother to join the band, Neil Finn. He was in Split Enz until the end, around the mid 80's. Neil later formed Crowded House, along with some Austrailian members. Later, he invited Tim to join his band (!), and did a tour and a record together. Tim left before Crowded House split up in the later 90's. They were actually different bands, quite different sounds and lyrics. Both were bloody good bands. |

God, I LOVE this song. I think I once read it happened to Eddie. I've been wondering recently if it's a tribute to the Ramones 'machine gun' style of song, since PK like the Ramones. |

My wife and I thought this was about child abuse by Catholic priests. That person then goes on to abuse others. The incredible guilt he feels then makes him contemplate suicide. (I always thought it was "to heaven and to court", ie the legal court.) |

I found an old Rolling Stone the other day, 1994. Pearl Jam on the cover :-) It said RVM was about suicide - editor's words - not Eddies'. I didn't believe it for one second. It's always been about someone getting the fuck out of there. |
