This song is very tounge-in-cheek. At first glance it seems to be telling us (the listener) to forget individual thoughts and do just live like everyone else ('Lose as Directed'). But there is a very definite sarcastic tone here, as it's saying that you wilkl become a prisoner (so to speak) if you give up and live like everyone else. The most obvious example is the line, "Mystery and Misery go hand in hand' Anyway...to mean it's saying that you should be YOU, not what the social world says you should be. But that's just what I get from it. |
