Great song by Pearl Jam... it was recorded around the Yield era and can be found on the 1997 Fan Club Christmas Single which was a split record with R.E.M. (which is why R.E.M. is mentioned in the first few lines of the song)... Happy when I'm crying was written by then-drummer Jack Irons and was later used as a sample piece in the Yield song "Push Me, Pull Me"... A rare oddity that has never been played live and has only seen the light of day on that 97 christmas single. |

I can shed some light here... the song titled Mystery that shows up on PJ Bootlegs from the early days is NOT a Pearl Jam song... for years it has confused people... here is the truth... The CD titled "Mookie Blaylock Demo's" is a mere sampling of the First Week Rehearsal demo, these songs were compiled on early bootleg CD's. The bootleggers tried to pass off two other Seattle band songs as Pearl Jam. The first, "Hold Your Head Up", is an Argent song covered by Mother Love Bone. "Mystery" is a demo from Blind Horse, a short-lived band consiting of Bruce Fairweather and Doug Gilmore of Mother Love Bone among others. Even Flow - Once - Breath - Release - Girl - Alive - Alone - Hold Your Head Up (Mother Love Bone) - Mystery (Blind Horse) Again, Mystery is NOT a Pearl Jam song... never was, never will be. Hopefully that helps. |

| Actually this song does have lyrics, but the version on lost dogs does not. They used the instrumental version of it. If you look on something like soul seek or kazaa u can find it with lyrics... i think www.theskyiscrape.com has it look under The Songbook and then under (i think) related albums... then Pre Ten Demos... you should find it in there... should be an mp3 of it. | |
