| Buzzcocks – Orgasm Addict Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
theantisuck: Casanova has been called the world's greatest lover. He wrote a book detailing his sexual conquests. There were a LOT, if he's telling the truth. |
|
| Franz Ferdinand – 40 Ft. Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
It reminds me of a volcano. Watching as its blood, the lava, slowly inches towards the ocean. It's cooling and hardening but still moving towards the ocean. That's just me projecting words to imagery, though. |
|
| Alkaline Trio – Enjoy Your Day Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I find the lisp incredibly endearing. Also, it's really not very noticeable... I mainly hear it when he says roses the first time, and a little bit the other times. I love the lisp, really. | |
| Joey Ramone – Don't Worry About Me Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This is my favorite song from the album. Very nice. | |
| Afroman – Because I Got High Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| "In two minutes, eleven seconds, I had written a hit, but before that it had taken me nearly seven months to recognize I had a marijuana problem," says the now-reformed rapper. "It was only then that I realized everyone talks about smoking weed, but no one ever really talks about the effects of marijuana. We know about the effects of drinking beer, we know about the effects of looking at a naked lady, but nobody knew about the effects of smoking weed. Actually, the problem was more that the people who did know weren't songwriters; they were just dudes walking down the beach or whatever. So I decided to write that song." | |
| Afroman – Because I Got High Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is trying to warn people about what can happen if you take drugs and things, but it's delivered in a way that people can appreciate it. If it was a completely serious song, you think people would like it so much? No way! | |
| Flogging Molly – The Spoken Wheel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Sweetly sad. Brings to mind the image of an old man, lying in bed before death and speaking to a son or grandson or even just a young friend. | |
| Flogging Molly – Queen Anne's Revenge Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Nathen Maxwell, the bass player, sings this song, and it's awesome. | |
| Flogging Molly – The Light of a Fading Star Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Small correction. Beyond the pale lies evening,* And the shadow of the plough* Good song. Nice sounds. |
|
| Flogging Molly – The Wrong Company Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song. Especially when he answers about never going to be sober, "Sure why would I want that?" It makes me grin. | |
| Flogging Molly – Whistles The Wind Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Great song. I love the chorus. | |
| Flogging Molly – To Youth (My Sweet Roisin Dubh) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Roisin Dubh is pronounced Ro-sheen Dove, and it's a beautiful name. Great song, as well, but for some reason the name just surpasses it all in my mind. Then again, I have a thing about names... | |
| Flogging Molly – Seven Deadly Sins Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song. It's great. XD Great beat, great sounds, great words. LOVE IT. | |
| Flogging Molly – Seven Deadly Sins Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this song. It's great. XD Great beat, great sounds, great words. LOVE IT. | |
| Flogging Molly – Screaming At The Wailing Wall Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
There are a lot of errors in these lyrics... So god how come every wrong's been done? With deals no Christ should allow, Once the communist now the terrorist, With blood as thick as yours, Now a caravan of clouds, Warns us all of winter showers, Then the rattle comes the rain, With each bullet screams your name, (Chorus) So how come this gatherin storm, Pours little on the truth? Where the smokin' gun's a familiar song let loose, With the bombed out cars, Come the falling stars, From a heaven we'll never know, And the nameless names, On the misspelled graves grow tall, We're still screamin' at the Wailing Wall I'll liberate your peoples' fate, Spoke the Burnin' Bush, But the song of beats, Growl with oil-soaked teeth, Their dollar is mighty and true, Now the eagle soars the sky, Over refugee and child, And to all there is no end, Another perfect day in hell, So how come the gather' storm, Pours little on the truth? Where the smokin' gun's a familiar song let loose, Now a caravan of clouds, Warns us all of deadly showers, Then a rattle comes the rain, With each bullet screams your name, (Chorus) Oh I'll liberate your peoples' fate, As we scream at the Wailing Wall. Those are the correct lyrics. Good song. |

| Bad Religion – Slumber Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Er... Am I the only one that hears the sarcastic tones in this? I think it is saying to live life happily, but... It's also telling us we're helping to kill earth and everything living on it... | |
| Bad Religion – Incomplete Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Sex without purity as in you're supposed to be married when you lose your virginity. I think that's what he means. | |
| Bad Religion – All Good Soldiers Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is commenting on what a "good soldier" is in the eyes of the majority of the people. Whereas a Christian soldier would immediately be thought of as an heroic, obedient protector of the country, an Atheist soldier is thought of as a trigger-happy killer. I think this song is explaining what so many people think a good soldier is. | |
| Beulah – Matter vs. Space Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I believe the song goes like this: Nose down, whatcha gonna do when, Parties fade and your make-up starts to smear, Only scene is a grand entrance, Silver screen is another brand new year, In a sea of talcum powder, Kids swim and they lose their color, Clock strikes twelve, Say dontcha feel so well? As the confetti falls, Timed with the tears, No one wants to hear, About your hardwood floors, Installs of the magic markers, Boys and girls come and go like coats of paint, All you got is a pretty name you're, Short of being killed off in the very first scene, On the porch with the smokers, Party talk gets much older, Clock strikes 12, say dontcha feel so well? As the confetti falls, Timed with the tears, No one wants to hear, About your hardwood floors. |
|
| Beulah – Sunday Under Glass Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is comparing movies and the West. Good song. | |
| Beulah – If We Can Land a Man on the Moon, Surely I Can Win Your Heart Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I used to think this song was a joke, but I think that they're half serious in this. One of their new songs, Wipe Those Prints And Run, talks about how they want to be famous and kinda threatens to break up if they don't get some. They mention fame and things often, and it makes me feel disappointed in them. | |
| Beulah – Warmer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is seriously beautiful. The instruments flow and the voices weave in and out. So pretty. | |
| Beulah – Rust With Me Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love the beginning of this song, and the part about the clown. XD | |
| Alkaline Trio – Warbrain Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"Thoughts are the shadows of feeling, always darker, emptier, and simpler. I don't care if they're fake or real. I just thank that they're showing up at all. I have black periods. Who does not? But they do not ahve me, they are not a part of illness, but a part of my being. What am I saying? I have the courage to have them. At four o'clock in the morning. This sucks." That's the speaking at the beginning, as far as I can tell. |
|
| Social Distortion – Highway 101 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I lived most of my life in Southern California, but the last year I've been away. I miss it. I love this song. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Bleeder Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"Missing a case, lacking a lid" -Death reference? Casket? |
|
| Yoko Kanno – Rain Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Very good song! Funny thing happened. This song came on, and the sky starts pouring... Heh, interesting. Good song to listen to when it's raining. | |
| Dropkick Murphys – Caught in a Jar Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Very good song. I think it's about realizing you aren't doing anything worthwhile with your life. | |
| At the Drive-In – Non-Zero Possibility Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think I agree with CYiNiSiS. I believe maybe it's talking about an old person in a nursing home or hospital seeing everyone dying. It's late. I must go. >.> |
|
| Beulah – Wipe Those Prints and Run Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| At one point, Beulah announced that if this cd didn't do well, they were going to stop playing. I think this song is explaining their reasoning. | |
| Beulah – Don't Forget to Breathe Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about a guy finding out the girl he is in love with was just playing with him and that she didn't love him. He's very depressed and feels empty, and desperately trying to convince himself that he doesn't need her to love him. | |
| Beulah – Your Mother Loves You, Son Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about a severely depressed, suicidal person. The song is saying don't kill yourself. You may be bakrupt and down right now, but you still have friends. It's saying don't kill yourself, your mother will cry. People care about you. Live your life for those you love until you can live your life for yourself. | |
| Piebald – Rich People Can't Breed Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I definitely think this song is about how materialism and physical appearance are so often so important. "They better look out for strange men like me." People are so scared of people that are different. | |
| Piebald – The Monkey Versus The Robot Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is commenting on how people are thrust into work and school so early in life, and don't have the chance to experience life while they're young enough to really enjoy it. | |
| Piebald – Long Nights Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This job could be about quitting a job, but the end basically proves this wrong. I think this song is about a couple who are really annoyed with each other and he finally tells her how he feels. | |
| Piebald – Just A Simple Plan Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about the growing disinterest about life and what's outside the door. So many people lock themselves into their houses and never leave. They don't care about all the beautiful and interesting things in the world. | |
| Piebald – They Don't Understand Us At The Academy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I believe this song is trying to show how the numbers of self-thinkers are dwindling. The end of this song expresses a fear of losing those that think for themselves, but also a hope that maybe the numbers will grow. Great song. | |
| Social Distortion – Don't Take Me for Granted Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Ness said this song is a tribute to Dennis Danell. Apparently this song was written a few days after his death. Reread the lyrics. It makes perfect sense. Damn good song. |
|
| Me First and the Gimme Gimmes – Mandy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song reminds me of my dog, who was named Mandy. My parents got divorced, my father was an ass, and we were forced to move. Well, we had to go into an apartment, and were forced to give our three dogs away. I miss my dog, Mandy, | |
| Everclear – Wonderful Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| This song is about parents divorcing or fighting a lot. The kid is trying to pretend to be happy around his friends, because he doesn't want to be singled out. When they move out, the mother (or father) promises that things will be better now. The mother tries to ake the kid happy, introducing to friends and things, but the kid clings to his old life and hates everything that's new. Extremely meaningful to me. | |
| Everclear – Santa Monica Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about loving someone so much, but knowing that everyday life is taking its toll on the relationship. It's about wanting to go to a beach, which I think represents anywhere that keeps you happy, and living there, leaving behind your troubles and just relaxing. Knowing that the world is fucked up and wanting to swim out past the breakers to watch it detroy itself, knowing you are safe with the one you love. | |
| Everclear – I Will Buy You A New Life Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is about trying to make the one you love's life a little bit better. It's about wishing you could buy the person happiness, buying them a new life where they can forget theirs woes. | |
| Everclear – Father Of Mine Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think this song is basically about reminiscing about good times with your father, and wishing they were back. It's incredibly... Heartbreaking, you could say, to live ten years with someone, and suddenly they are no longer there. When I was ten, my father was kicked out of the house, for attempting to strangle my mother to death (which I happened to see) and suddenly everything was different. Before then, I had been daddy's little girl. We moved to Long Beach, where I was one of the few white girls at my school, and was not exactly viewed well. It's hard to have everything, and then suddenly nothing. This song is about missing your old life, but moving on despite it. | |
| Hot Water Music – Rooftops Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Hot Water Music are greatly under appreciated. :/ Anyway, this is the first song I ever heard by them, and I love it. I think this song is about being tired of living, and wishing for something more, wishing to start all over again, wishing not to be ignored. |
|
| Piebald – Sex Sells and (Unfortunately) I'm Buying Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this song is about depression or despair. About not knowing where you are in life, what to do, and are lost. I heard some rapper once say there's a message in everything. It's just like liquor stores, mailboxes and payphones, whenever you need them, they are impossible to find. ---I think this is about trying to find the message, the meaning, but whenever you need it, it isn't there. That's my opinion, at least. |
|
| Piebald – It's Going To Get Worse Before It Gets Better Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
I think this song is about someone who is always depressed or suicidal. The person doesn't seem to even try to feel better, and uses their depression as an attention or pity magnet. I think the writer is basically saying that you can't always be depressed, because sooner or later everyone will get sick of your constant whining. I'm sending out a note or two that says we're all going to the same place, so it doesn't matter where you are in line. ---This makes me think it's either them saying not to commit suicide, which makes sense with how I've interpreted the rest, but it sounds to me more likely he's saying it's okay to kill yourself, because you're going to die either way, just sooner rather than later. That's what I think, at least. |
