Almost all of the songs on the cd that this song came from form a story. The cd in all is a story about the writer meeting a girl and then being forced to leave, and then when he can finally come back, she's about to marry another guy. All the people hate him and want to kill him for what he's done and the girl, "Melinda" remembers just how much she loves him.

This song is the part where they're about to kill him. He's in some chamber or maybe about to be hung and it's public and she's in the crowd and they're looking at eachother. Yeah. you get it. |

I think it's just about fame catching up to you. Realizing that when people notice you in public and want your autograph it becomes insane. Just things that fame do to you. constantly feeling like you're being watched and trying to not make the wrong move. Walking on eggshells. |
