I'm really glad to see that the Dixie Chicks are saying "I made my bed and I sleep like a baby with no regrets" It's really awesome to see that these women have not given in to the bullying. I watched them do an interview on *60 minutes* and although they got to say a lot of intelligent things and state their opinion rationally, i couldn't help but notice the attitude of the interviewer, who repeatedly asked the girls shit like "why did you release this song, why didn't you just be quiet for the fans" and "don't you ever just want to tell natalie to shut up". cause.... 'god' forbid a woman should voice her opinion! I think it's awesome that they're standing by their opinion and are probably ignoring a lot of people who try to bully them into "being quiet" like *women should be*. I don't understand the whole "do it for the fans" or "it's a bad career move" rationale so much. Musicians do NOT have to appease their fans if their fans are so narrow-minded that they are unable HANDLE an opinion that does not match their own. The fact that they recieved a death threat is especially concerning. the whole "CONFORM OR DIE" thing is a tad bit insane. These attitudes continue to baffle me. |

ahha wow! large discussion about this song. for anyone ELSE about to write a comment like this: "not all blonde skinny girls are dumb you know there are ditzy chicks no matter what they look like.. i cant put on weight at all and im naturally blonde - i guess that automatically means i lack brain cells to - rite?" (on page 2) first of all, it would really really help to use punctuation. and yes - spelling too. those things are key in communicating a CLEAR message. secondly - ok you're correct but uhm, you've missed the point. 'blonde skinny' girls are not being targeted in this video. some people are born blonde. some people are skinny. i don't think pink is attacking THAT, okay? she's attacking the actions of celebrities and people who FOLLOW these celebrities. she's attacking dumb behaviour in general - the people who go out of their way to attain what society currently believes to be the beauty ideal. the "stupid girl" attitude always seeking attention & the "male gaze". "Disasters all around Would despair Their only concern Will they **** up my hair" i think the main point is - there are more important things to be thinking about. there are better things you can be spending your money on - rather than plasic surgery, fake n bake, and 500$ hair extensions. I think a really IMPORTANT part in this song is about the girls dancing in the 50 cent videos - how those videos continue to be made by ADULTS today is absolutely mind blowing. How we watch those videos and consider them "normal" is disgusting. Whoever comes up with those video concepts are in dire need of futher education. |

the video discussion thing is hidden.. it's on the toolbar thingy to the right of the "MERCH" button. it looks like gibberish at first but hold your mouse and it'll change into "SONG". i dont know how much about suicide this is, so much as it is about anxiety. not just because he says so in the last few lines, but because the whole song seems to outline the kind of thought process that might be influenced by anxiety issues. "who will keep me from lashing out" when you have a panic attack, you just lash out, you lose control. "I just wish I could just show you what a huge problem this is. " It's hard to explain to people why you freak out over the littlest things. but it does happen, and it is a serious problem!! "I keep thinking about, right now, all these awful things, and I don't believe it Where do I have to go so it'll stop? " depression is kinda linked with anxiety.. and throughout either your mind just goes.. wild with a lot of negativity. anyways, that's just my perspective. |

Go to any show and TRY to tell me that people aren't all dressed alike. and. VERY VERY fashionable. atticus..band shirts..and everyone has kick-ass hair. it's all so very trendy.
