to add on what tsucol said, i think it goes a step further. i dont know if im making this up, but a while back i heard a group proposing to make executions Pay-per-view. I think Theyre playing on this notion and taking it a step further, to a society where executions are a daily event, an event you would take a date to. (or maybe refering to colonial/medeval era, when public executions were a common place? |

the beauty of alkaline trio and this song is what the lyrics mean to different people.... All of you arguing about what it means, what does it matter what it means to others if you know what it means to you? I thought it was a drug addiction song, but i had never read the lyrics, and i had always hear the lyric 'the stacks been burned away' as 'your cracked and burned away'. i thought that this was refering to a guy who was so deeply in love with someone he couldnt have that he turned to drugs in order to forget the person hes in love with... but now, the drugs are gone and he has to face his love for this person..... thats just me... and in the future, please dont argue about things that do not need to be argued about, just love the beauty that is Alkaline Trio, for they are gods among men and are by far one of the most talented bands around, both lyrically and insturmentally
