Fiona Apple – Fast as You Can Lyrics 21 years ago
I agree with WinterOnyx. To me this song is not about being a proud bitch who hurt/manipulate men. Several lines in this song suggest that she might have some issues that she's awared of and she'd rather push love away than hurting others.
"Sometimes my mind don’t shake and shift, but most of the time, it does"
"I let the beast in"
"I don’t know how to live without my hand on his throat"
My favorite lines "I’m tired of whys, choking on whys,
Just need a little because, because". For me, it meant that she's tired of questions/mysteries/doubts of life and just needs some answers/something constant/something that makes sense.

moist – Breathe Lyrics 21 years ago
I dunno why but this song just screams out Mont-Royal in Montreal whenever I heard it. To me, this song is about living in a city where someone planned to spend the reste of his life with his lover but loses (or almost loses) his lover in a tragic way. There is a strong element of denial in this song. At the begining of the song he's wondering around the town dazed and confused and he needs his dead (or comatose/dying) lover to help he see all the beauty of the city that they shared. (save me from this, wandered around the town, all the thousand things
i might miss) And then he starts to ask if the dead (or dying) suffers much and see the world going on without her/him. "did you close your eyes, just to see the night, rush us by". Then he talks about their friends gathering around them saying that they are glad to be there. (sounds like a funeral to me)

Throughout the song he keeps on promising to his lover that he would never let she/him down again, for me this is the saddest part of the song. I assume that he's still in great denial. "if only i could just believe a thing."

This song is on the second album Moist had written (and possibly inspired) in Montreal.

Natalie Imbruglia – Impressed Lyrics 21 years ago
This is my favorite Natalie Imbruglia song, well maybe after "Left of the Middle" but I've never waken up at the middle of the night craving "Left of the Middle". The lyrics of this song is very graphic, and together it paints a really pretty picture of a gold digger who sold herself to the material goods of the world by marrying for money, and that Imbruglia herself is "impressed" by her.

I love the way the singer comments/describes the girl
"Ice cream beauty acting on her best behaviour"
"Feeling so old as the night is young"
"Changing your body like you change your jeans"
And the best part is when Imbruglia comments that "it's marriage made in heaven[...] (you)stealing your look from a magazine, playinng the part from a movie scene."

Instead of takign the perspective of judging condescentdingly the gold-digger the song was written with a certain tone of admiration and understanding. And at the end she (Imbruglia( reminds her (golddigger) that rich as she may be her time is running out and sooner or later true love/happiness will slip away from her forever.
"Everyday is like your birthday, But the candles burning,
Don't you see, Don't you see, "

This music is a combination of techno/pop with IDM(intelligence dance music) elements to it, it's a bit hard(and alotta fun) if u dance with this song unremixed
