ok this may be colored by a experience in my life that I relate to this song but I always heard this as watching someone, a neighbor, a lover, someone you care about who is killing themself with self destructive habits as you watch without being able to do anything. similar themes are in continental, queen of pain, a little in all on black, and the song trouble breathing the girl has a bad home life (a pointsetta in poison rain. . . th nightmarish house hold in which she died) You went out with a bang when you took with you all my dreams underground this clearly refers to suicide thats what it means to me but then again this is colored by my experience |
