This song, to me, is about someone named Rufus who goes to Hogwartz and the Sorting Hat tells him things he doesn't want to hear. Like maybe that he is a dork, or a jerk, or something. He gets sorted into a house he doesn't like and now his friend is trying to console him by saying "It's not true, Rufus, don't listen to the [sorting] hat!" |

Myfriendoak: It does have a definite time signature (well, as much as any other song does), and you're right: It's 4/4. However, the chords are tied across the bar line half the time, and it's really hard to hear. |

I'm pretty sure this song is about someone who wastes their money on the lottery. "After years of waiting (to win the lottery), nothing came (ie, I didn't win the lottery)." Then someone questions him, asking "Why are you wasting your money on the lottery?" The speaker becomes beligerent, replying in anger, "I'm a reasonable man, get off my case!!" |
