Chiodos – No Hardcore Dancing in the Living Room Lyrics 19 years ago
Seems to me that it's about a long distance relationship ("Shredded by state lines") gone bad. The two are in love, but the distance proves too difficult for them. The singer sees it coming ("Denying this day, didn't stop it from coming") and, perhaps in an effort to save the relationship, heads out to visit his love interest.

When he finally has to return home ("Press my face up against the glass", like the window of a car maybe), he realizes that as great as the visit may have been, the relationship is going to keep going downhill ("this won't get any easier").

Maybe at this point, the love interest has come to the same realization. The singer tries to keep the relationship from collapsing because he remembers how great it once was to finally love someone and be loved ("Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again") and tries to convince the other person to ride out the hard times ("It's hard but worth the wait when it's over").

It could go two ways after that... Either they break up or stay together. I think that they broke up, personally. In either case, I think that the person that the song is being sung to/about ends up seeing someone else or cheating on the singer, who is understandably upset/hurt/angry ("Now open up wide, fist first down your throat / Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine").

I'm not sure about the last bit... Maybe he burns the letters or things that were exchanged and drinks to try and make himself feel better ("I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration")?

Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics 19 years ago
I think you guys might be overlooking some subtleties in the lyrics.

You're right that it's about making a decision to cut off a friendship, but I think that this friendship is plagued by some big problems. There's something going unsaid that is creating this rift between the two people, and it is going unsaid because both people care so much about the other that they can't bring themselves to say something that they both know will probably end the friendship.

It's like being friends with someone and hating their personality. It's just something that you can't overlook, but you try to overlook it because you value that friendship. Perhaps the person has changed since you knew them.

The singer is talking to the other person and saying, "Look, let's just put our cards on the table, because this is only going to hurt us more." He hates having to do it, but realizes that it's the right thing, hence "this is probably the best, not to mention the worst idea that I have ever had".

You're right about that, ironflippy, but that doesn't mean that there isn't any meaning in it.

Ahh... But here's something to think about. Who says that the whole song is in reference to one girl? ;)

Gorillaz – Kids With Guns Lyrics 20 years ago
My feeling is that it's two sides of the media violence coin. At first it's saying that kids are brainwashed into these violent people with "demon souls", and it "won't be long" before they lash out. The kids have horrible desires to cause trouble.

Then, the chorus is saying that the adults are turning kids into monsters with the whole brainwashing theory, when really the adults are just looking for something to blame other than themselves.

Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics 20 years ago
In the video, when the rap portion starts, and the rapper suddenly comes up on the screen, I immediately thought of Big Brother. The way it was just this face on the screen telling you what to think and how to live. Anyone else notice this?

As for idiotinabarrel's interpretation, I think that it's more or less the same as most other interpretations. The song seems to be about addiction. That doesn't mean necessarily addiction to drugs. It could be addiction to partying and "feeling good" in whatever way works for you. For some people, that's drugs. Others, alcohol. Others, video games. It's about letting the superficial go and realizing that true happiness comes from within.

Seems to me that it's about the difference between casual sex and a lasting relationship.
