Duran Duran – Rio Lyrics 21 years ago
I think the message that they were going after is pretty clear, if not so much in the lyrics, the video is pretty clear. Five guys trying to woo one girl (Rio) and the lyrics talk about what she looks like and how she acts. Pretty standard. From the looks of it, it seems like Rio is a star of some sort (2nd verse) and they are just trying to spend time with her, almost as their idol.

That's just my opinion.

Blur – She's So High Lyrics 21 years ago
A bit of unrequited love going on here? Seems like he can't get to the girl that he wants because she's too above him.

Blur – Badhead Lyrics 21 years ago
Brass band beginning: I love it. That's one thing I've always loved of British music. Chumbawamba also uses brass a lot in their music.

"It" seems like the mystical part of this song... "grin and bear IT" and "I'd rather wear IT" and "IT's like a badhead in the morning." Whatever IT is, it's not worth the trouble of an arguement.

Any ideas of what IT could be?

The rest of the song seems like it could be talking about a lazy day of summer vacation, but I'm sure that's not what he's referring to.

Blur – Tracy Jacks Lyrics 21 years ago
To me, this seems like just a play by play on Tracy's day in the life. I think the key to the meaning, however, is shown in the chorus. Though the first two lines are pretty ambiguous ("Everyday he got closer/He knew in his heart he was over") the second two lines have some substantial meaning for us all ("I'd love to stay here and be normal/But it was always overrated")

Blur – To the End Lyrics 21 years ago
I disagree... I would lean towards having them having gotten to the end of their relationship based on the lines "What happened to us/Soon it will be gone forever/Infatuated only with ourselves/And neither of us can think straight anymore" Those lines clearly refer to two people NOT sharing anything together anymore. Although, before I analyzed the lyrics this morning, I always thought it was talking about something that had been victorious for them, arriving at the end together, but I could never understand the rest of the words due to the cockney accent! [I'm from the US]

Cheers!
