i think this song is about loving someone who has a sort of sudden image change and takes on a kind of "rock star" persona, trying to impress everyone. but in the end, the same people this person is trying to please reject her, and she is burnt out. |

this is such a great song. i'm surprised more people haven't commented on it, but it's also a hard song to get your hands on, so that might be the reason. anyway, it's just about someone who has become obsessed with being the coolest, or perhaps the "scenest" makes more sense. this person tries to pretend not to be trying, but it's still obvious that they are, and they thus feel the need to put others down. |

i think this song is about being se fed up with every aspect of your life that you almost want to get rid of everyone in it and start anew someplace else because everyone is constantly criticizing you and thinking that you don't notice or care. his person just feels so trapped with their life. |

i agree with buck wilder for the most part, except i see the guy annie is waiting for as a jerk who is using her, and she pretty much accepts this, but she's still waiting for him, hoping that maybe he was on his way to see her but he got in a crash or something, and then she questions that thought to herself ("would that be worse?") and ben obviously loves this girl unconditionally, but she is oo obsessed with the jerk to see that, but ben waits for her, just as she is waiting for this other guy. it's a very ironic song. |
