I really hate it how all you people think that this music is so revolutionary, because its not. Its a pitiful mixture of pseudo-rock/pop, and rap/hiphop. I really hate it how Linkin Park has focused their attention directly to their mainstream fans. There is no talent in their new music, all that their doing is taking their old music and putting in a few new meaningless verses. All that they're doing is butchering all of their old songs and adding a rapper talking about ignorance. |

Omg i love Garden State i saw it just like a week ago with my G/F and my friend, and the movie is so enlightening. Since the movie i just feel like i have such a f*ck it attitude, like nothing really matters and dont toil over the petty shit. As a senior in high school it was kinda scary watching all of his friends that amounted to nothing after they finished high school except for the guy with the quiet velcro lol.
Everyone needs to go see Garden State, quit watching T.V. (or dramatically reduce the time spent in front of the downfall of western civilization) and talk to one another. just talk to anyone, even your parents. Learn from other people

BurningInside yeah you do make a good point, some of the people that listen to maynards music do get a little obsessive about it. but if you think about it almost all of the music out there have fanatics that listen to their music and follow whatever the band says religiously. i do aggree with you because i have a friend that listens to tool and apc and he got so obsessed at one time he said that he would even like to have sex with maynard and hes not gay!! (well he might be but i dont know) so i know where ur coming from just dont blame these 2 bands for what has been going on for years and years and years. i mean have you ever heard of Beatles Mania. everyone loved the Beatles so they starded screwing with the public giving them layered lyrics just like these 2 bands. look at the lyrics to that song i am the wallrus (spelling?) people tryed to decipher those lyrics for years and ill bet some dumbass will get on here and tell me im and idiot and say that it meant that the world was ending or some crap. |

i dont think that either one is better they both have their own unique style. and speaking of style, styles makes the most ignorant points ever. i mean why arfe u even listening to the music if you dont think that it takes talent to write their lyrics. and maynard is a lyrical genius, it does take a lot of talent to do what he does, in my own opinon i dont think that any artist today has as much talent or insight as mjk does. and i do know where im going down into the earth to rot and decay. and i also know where i came from : i was formed when a whole lot of random organisms got together and started to evolve. so if you are going to preach about rembering and worshiping your roots, then go to the nearest algae and cess pool and worship the tiny organisms because thats where we came from. |

GtotheO2sman that is a great opinion everyone feels that the lyrics written by tool and apc mean only one specific thing. NOT TRUE. most if not all of both bands lyrics are written in such a way that they influence and speak differently to each individual person. at some times the lyrics in judith will be about god and how much i hate that everyone is fooled by the elaborate farytale that he is, and other times it will be about a relationship that im having with someone and how i wish that they would quit changing me into something that "i would never ever choose to be". GtotheO2sman im really glad that your so open-minded about things, dont let people tell you that their lyrics are written specifically for certain problems, because theyre not. |

maynard and billy create these wonderful lyrics in such a way so that almost every person that listens to them has a totally different opinion on the songs. first of all its "move away, fuck the tornado", but anyway. i think that its about someones influence on him. they influence him in many ways and hurt him emotinally, but they are distant from him and he doesnt matter to them so he denies that they have an affect on him. they constantly lie to him to where he becomes desensitized to what they say. finally he gets fed up with all of the ignorance and insanity that he wants them to leave his life and take their problems with them. P.S Maynard is awesome |
