I think you're thinking of Wayne's World and the story that ozzie's old roadie tells about ozzie needing M&Ms before he would go on for a show. I think he specifically asks for one color. Also, maybe it's completely obvious but what's the deal with the "Weeze" stuff in the video. I only caught the tail end of it this morning. Thanks. |

| he's a ghost the whole time because he died in a bridge accident, didn't you see the pictue in the paper at the very end? "Man dies in tragic bridge accident" and his picture is shown (he's in his hawaii shirt that she holds up at the beginning of the video). It's her that dies in the car accident, reuniting them. | |
| Better Than Ezra – Closer Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this is quite possibly the most moving song I've ever heard. nothnig in this world is "closer" than the birth of a child. Not, religion ("closer than this faith", being atheist, I absolutely love this line), not your own vices ("the things you hold dearly and in vain"), not even your own life. No joke, quite possibly the best lyrics ever written, and the music isn't to shabby either :) | |

hmmm it's been a long time since someone else posted here, but here goes... tvfreak mentioned earlier about how the song was about more than just the narrator and allie. i don't think this is the case. he does mention "allie" in the first phrase and then switch to "you" in the phrases after that, but what Kevin is doing here is using third person to set up the story for everyone in the first phrase and then after that it's like he's singing to allie. with the urn... the first time he says "you were standing on the hood of the car..." i love the interpretation that "you" is the urn that the narrator has placed up on the hood becuase "you would've wanted it that way". the second time when he says "we were standing..." he's remembering the times when they used to do that. "screaming out loud when the sun came up", i think the situation is they were up all night at party then drove out to the beach in the morning to watch the sunrise. just gives you that tingley feeling all over doesn't it? i hope this song moves everone as much as it does me. as someone else said earlier, Kevin's songwriting ability continues to amaze me, and the fact that he is so hilarious in concert yet writes such deep lyrics is also amazing |
