Nobody has posted anything implying a song meaning, so i'll take the responsibility to briefly explain. hopefully somebody w / more time on their hands will elaborate or add his own piece of info.
the opening lines are saying we are leaves on a tree, we begin to rust and turn into an older form. such as "old folks". hints "old folks home smell so much like my own", as in we really arn't all that different from the elderly. "then get left alone" could possibly mean death. im guessing hotcha girls are kind of like, "hootchie" girls, the young pretty girls all men lust over. when we get older and aapproach death we are left alone by these beutiful girls who are so important to us. the other versus like "we were dropping dimes on the ponies" i really have no idea about, maybe personal references to isaac's childhood memories? im not sure. In a nutshell it's about the people going through the elderly process and losing the relationships w/ young, pretty "hotcha" girls. instead they are only given "one trick, a wink for the truck stop boys". |

the last guy i pretty dead on. "carving cat faces in the pine" is a direct symbol for a carving a heart in a wooden tree. cat faces look like hearts. this is symbolic for love in a mortal life. "we're wood screws" is representative for our lives. wood screws arn't stable, they could break and split at any moment. |

to me this song has a simple but well put meaning you can sum up in a few words. it has to do with not letting shit get to you, not letting the common aggitations of the world to bother you, and not losing compusure when devastation encounters you. |

umm i think the line "the last thing I remember now" definately gives it away that this is were julio/cerpin taxt commits suicide. I could be wrong, it just makes since to me that way. The album ends when julio's life dies, that just seems logical to me. The last cuplet of lyrics seems to me like Cerpin Taxt is talking, saying this to himself as he commits suicide. |

i don't have the song meaning down totally, but I do know that in the song video you follow a lepar around (the little rat/monkey looking thing) and that lepar's are one of the few species who commit suicide: animal symbolism. |

I can't really tell you what the fuck this song is about, but I guarantee you is has nothing to do with ATDI or their break up. Deloused in the Comatorium is a concept album of julian venegas (a man who killed himself in a band rehersal and was an artistic inspiration to ATDI and its members) slipping into a dream like coma, experiences interesting characters who assist him in battling good and evil parts of his conscience, and then at the end (song 10) he commits suicide. the ATDI break up was sad, but i know cedric and omar look at as a good thing, something which had to be done so the music would not suffer. actually i know they think this because I read it in a copy of "fader" magazine. please don't write anymore that track seven of deloused in the comatorium has to do with the "stiches of the ATDI breakup". it is merely a portion of the fantasy story deloused in the comatorium. -kevin dunn |
