KoЯn – Counting On Me Lyrics 21 years ago
The first time I listened to the "Take a Look in the Mirror" album I didn't even notice this song. Then after a few more times of listening to the CD I realized that I really, really liked this song. It's like once I started to actually pay attention to the lyrics I could understand EXACTLY what this guy was talking about. In the chorus I think basically what he is talking about is a bad relationship in which someone is co-dependent upon him. The woman in the relationship expects him to always be at her beck and call but in return she gives nothing back to him. This situation is literally destroying him from within (i.e. "you suck the life out of me). I think this is a song a lot of people in "one-sided" relationships can relate to. For me this ties with "Right Now" as the best track on the album.

Nelly – Hot in Herre Lyrics 21 years ago
This is probably the worst song I have ever heard. There is absolutely nothing of substance in this song, just some incredibly childish and ignorant chattering about sex. It has to have the most idiotic, grating chorus in the history of mankind. The only people who could possibly be excused for liking this song are people who are either in Junior High or immature Freshmen in high school who think listening to crap like this makes them cool. I just have two words for anybody else who likes this song: GROW UP! Try listening to music that has a theme other than the glorification of crime, drug use, and promiscuous sex. Try listening to music that has depth, substance, and meaning and inspires emotion. Hearing songs like this makes me wish I was deaf.

P.S.--Mudvayne Freak, you small-minded twit, rap is not just a bunch of black dudes trying to get white girls. That is like saying anybody who listens to David Bowie is gay. Rap is just a crappy form of music, regardless of the race of the people who perform it.

Disturbed – The Game Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is fucking awesome!!!Any guy who has ever been in a relationship where a girl has cheated and/or lied to him knows EXACTLY what this song is about. I think practically every guy out there has felt the feelings that Dave Draiman sings about in this song. DISTURBED FUCKING RULES!!!!!!!!

Disturbed – Voices Lyrics 21 years ago
I should start this off by saying that Disturbed is easily my all-time favorite band. I can relate to their music so much because I know what it is like to feel uncontrollable rage within yourself and how hard it is to hold that rage in sometimes. With the music of Disturbed I can just let that rage out and not feel bad about it because I know that it is perfectly normal to have bottled-up anger inside. However, not all of Disturbed's songs are just about rage. Their last album "Believe" branched out from their more anger-oriented first album "Down With The Sickness." On "Believe" they delve into religious-oriented themes and lyrically-speaking their songs on "Believe" are deeper and more introspective.

Anyways, as for what I think the meaning of Voices is, I think the people who have posted before me have pretty much hit the nail on the head. This song is about somebody struggling with a mental illness, such as schizophrenia, and the inner conflict this person feels as the voices in his head tell him to do sick and sadistic things. This song is just flat-out awesome. With the way this song sounds and the way the lyrics are sung its like you yourself can feel somebody else's insanity and you can feel the overwhelming temptation they have to just go completely psycho. Great band, great song.

Morrissey – America Is Not The World Lyrics 21 years ago
This song is a sharp and biting piece of social commentary about modern-day America. Morrissey is critiquing the various characteristics that America is most well-known for:

"America, your head's too big"--he's talking about America's arrogance

"Because America your belly's too big"--He's talking about the fact that most Americans are overweight

"And I love you I just wish you'd stay where you is"--He's talking about the way Americans think they have the right to impose their way of life on other countries as they see fit and he wishes that America would just back off.

"where the president is never black, female or gay"--
He's talking about America's bigotry, a bigotry that prevents anyone who is not a white, preferably Protestant, male of Anglo-Saxon descent from becoming President in America.

"It brought you the hamburger
Oh well America you know where
You can shove your hamburger"--Here Morrisey is basically giving the finger to America's fast-food culture.

"And don't you wonder
Why in Estonia they say
Hey you big fat pig
You fat pig, You fat pig"--Here Morrissey is talking about the negative way we Americans are perceived in other countries (i.e. obnoxious, arrogant, fat, etc.)

"Know in your soul, please
For haven't you me with you now?
And I love you"--I think here when Morrisey says "For haven't you me with you now?" he is talking about the fact that he now lives in America and despite all this country's flaws he likes living here.

Anyways, I think this is a great song and a great piece of social commentary. Hats off to Morrissey on another excellent album.
