I don't mind it when bands write political songs, but I hate it when they try to make a political statement with it or if they try to make one in public. It's pathetic. The song is about politicians lying and being fake, yet they are trying to make a political statement while they are not politicians. |

You also have to take in consideration that the Seattle sound was the up and coming style of music in 1994. Naveed to comparable to many mainstream bands including Pearl Jam.
Clumsy is still pretty mainstream as well. It's still that 90s rock that was huge, and you can compare it to a toned down Smashing Pumpkins.
"Where Are You" is being played quite a bit in certain cities (Buffalo and Detroit for example), but not at all in some other cities. The song is increasing in total plays each week though.
How much the CD will sell in the U.S. will be determined by how big the second single is, and I kind of think that was their intention. I mean, the single has to be Will the Future Blame us and that has the potential to do quite well.
A good comparison (sort of ) is how Collective Soul's new album is doing. The first single sucked but they advertised like hell with commercials and appearences. The second single caught on quite well. The album hasn't gone gold (500,000 copies) or anything, but you also have to take into account the fact that it's an Independant release.
Columbia seems to be getting OLP out there too. |

I'm not sure if it is or not. It all depends on when Raine went to Africa - I thought he went last year.
This song originally was made in 2003, and it had the same chorus. But the rest of the lyrics could have obviously changed since then.
I do agree that this CD is mostly about the middle east. |

From the bridge after the chrous to the end of the song is amazing.
I think you've also gotta throw in Will the Future Blame Us as an example of how Raine's voice is still great. World on a String too. |

I'm not surprised if there are a few die hard OLP fans that don't like the album. They're OLP fans because they like they're older music.
I personally like mainstream-esque music, and I like OLP's mainstream-esque music more than their older stuff.
Then again, their older stuff was really mainstream too. |

By far my least favorite song. It's not bad or anything, it's just really bland to me. Just my opinion though. |

Oh, and just a tidbit of info: The song was first named "Holy Ghost".
I'm sure no one really cares but maybe we'll look back in a few years and see it or something... I dunno. |

Are you sure? Cause 11 of the 12 songs have been posted by the same guy.
I bet if I looked hard enough on Kazaa I could find them, they've had to have leaked out somehow, but I don't have Kazaa and I probably wouldn't anyways. I'll just wait two weeks for the CD to come out. |

The new OLP stuff sounds like a cross between older OLP and music today. It's a great mix and will be a breath of fresh air in music these days.
I like how you can't even label the CD a certain genre. |

Where have you guys heard the full songs? I've heard the clips and everything, but not the full finished versions.
Maybe I'll take a look on the Clumsy Congress or the Hub.
Or maybe you've all just heard this song live or something.
I do agree that this album will be their best on yet by far. |

I dunno, I think the song is about someone who doesn't exactly know where they are in life, or what type of person they are. They're confused and don't have an identity yet. |

Good song. Surprised these lyrics were posted this fast. I could understand some of the lines until you posted this.
The song really picks up after the first chorus. |

There's one of Wipe That Smile Off Your Face, also. First time through (Yesterday), I was not too impressed, but I just listened to them again and they sound great. To me atleast. |

The reason that the die hard OLP fan does not like their new stuff is because they became fans from their old stuff. There new music is not what they want. It does not mean that it is bad, though, although many people do for some reason. |

Hey, go to Spiritualmachines.net and they have 4 new clips of songs including Don't Ask Why, which is now labeled "Will the future blame us". It's not as pianoey as I thought it would be but I still like it.
A lot of people do not have faith in their new CD, but they're all basing it on a few clips, some of which may not even be their best songs. I bet they haven't released a clip of a single yet. |

The music on the CD has to do with the sound of music that you like. Just because you like their older stuff, does not make it better. It has to do with their sound. Some people like their sound from Naveed and Clumsy, some people like their sound from Gravity. |

Don't Ask Why was the first song on the greeting on Ourladypeace.net last christmas (2003). They also play it live.
On the new greeting, it shows a list of songs, about 20 of them), 12 or so are listed under "ALBUM". Not Afraid is not listed there. |

Gravity was not a letdown to ALL of the hardcore fans. Most fans seems to love Gravity.
Not Afraid will not be on the album probably. Neither will Wipe that Smile off your face.
I like the new sound that's gonna be on the upcoming CD, with Vampires, Don't Ask Why, and the song off their Holiday Greeting. Picture is supposed to be a great song as well. |

I love how Maida encorporated his Bad Company influence in the first like. It's reminiscent to Bad Company's "Shooting Star"
Bad Company - "Johnny was a school boy, when he played if first Beatles song"
OLP - "Johnny wishes he was famous, spends his time all along in the basement with the Lennon and the Cobain in a guitar and a stereo." |

I can't stop getting this song out of my head.
Raine's voice is more of a personal preference than anything. I know people who absolutely love it because it is so different, and I know people who hate it. I personally don't really like it for this song, but I do like it for other slow songs like Potato Girl or Are You Sad. |

Yes, wrestling is scripted. But it takes so much agility, stamina and toleration of pain to be a wrestler. You have to go out every night and suffer injuries constantly, while not letting it effect you or your persona.
As for the song, the Live version is awesome. |

MusicFreak, Clumsy just went platinum in the U.S. a few months ago. That's 1 million copies (Not 100,000 copies like in Canada).
I expect Gravity to go Platinum in the near future, as well as their upcoming album. OLP's starting to get some recognition (Along with their older stuff) and a growing more and more popular.
They're new CD early next year should be all over the charts. From what I've heard (Which isn't much), they have some stuff that easily could be hit singles. "Don't Ask Why" should be an absolute hit and "Vampires" could be too. I've also heard of a song called "Picture" which is being described as beautiful and a #1 single. |

Bring Back The Sun seems to generally be viewed as the down part (Along with sell my soul) of Gravity. Most people think that it is a good song, but just kinda depressing.
It's slowly becoming one of my favorite songs and is absolutely beautiful if you ask me. |

By far my favorite Beatles song. If they created the song today and made it sound like something that would be played in this time, it would still be one of the best songs. |
