Really nice song; shame not many people have commented on Deep Purple stuff! The song is pretty straight-forward, about someone who falls in love with a hooker, then 'won' her shortly before she died. |

| Haven't heard this version, but I can't believe they copied Creedence Clearwater Revival *glomp* I'm a massive fan. I'm sure it's good though - the Stereophonics version of Handbags and Gladrags was excellent. | |

it's a really nice song (although not usually my type of music) but I think the song's about how she falls in *lust* with a guy but as time goes on she realises he's not what she had always dreamed her *special guy* would be like, so although she had been constantly trying to make him out as something he's not, she's finally giving up and ready to face the truth "I should have seen just what was there and not some holy light" and maybe because she had spent so long imagining him in this light, she feels "I'm cold and I'm ashamed," "Illusion never changed, Into something real," makes me think maybe she actually tried to change him into this perfect person, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't change who he really is. And the "You're a little late, I'm already torn" shows that maybe he's actually developing into this character (or is trying to) but she's already given up. But I like Doll82's losing her virginity idea ;o) |
