'Scuse me for my icky grammar and spilling. (j/k)

"(What follows) me as the whitest lace of light
(Will swallow whole) just begs to be imbrued?
What follows has lead me to this place
where I belong, with all erased "

I think this song's about having good things follow you where ever you go, even though you didn't make an effort to make these good things happen to you. The result feeling is guilt and some sembelence of feeling undeserving of the good things (or "whitest lace of light").

Because the light follows you (and you think you don't deserve it) then it "just begs to be imbrued" and tainted by what you think is your own corrupted soul/person/essence/whatever. So the light follows you, and boom, because the light had followed you where you "belonged" (which i assume is supposed to be a tainted area as thought of by the lyric-ist), the light dies and it can no longer bug or haunt you. Because in the place "where [you] belong" everything's "erased," 'cept for the real you of course.

"All insects sing tonight
The coldest sound
I'd send God's grace tonight
Could it be found?"

Silence is the lonely-isht sound ever! ("the coldest sound")...since there are insects that could be heard, assume that the person in the song feels alone.
About the god part, maybe the person is asking for the 'good things' stated up above, even though he knows he doesn't deserve them. About the "could it be found part," even though he is given the 'good things' in the end he is never really happy.

...mind you, i'm using 'good things' as something to represent events or feelings...it's a stupid quote but i hate elaborating too much.

"I'll lay me down tonight
Much further down
Watch stars go out tonight
On sinking ground "

In this person's own personal hell, or where ever he believes he "belongs" where everything is "erased," the laying down part and singing could represent his acceptence of his miserable state. "Watch starts go out tonight" kinda reminds me of the feeling of defeat...at least in this song. "on sinking ground," well, that can't be good; it's not 'rising' so this could further support the 'defeat' theme.

Hm...if you take a look at the music video, maybe this song's more from the band's/singer's piont of view than the girl's? The girl could be symbolic of the 'good things,' the rabbit-thing could represent the singer's desire for 'good things,' and that whole other dimension thing...where everything's red/bloody, that could be the place where the person in the song feels like he belongs. When the girl (or the good things) follows the singer's desire (for her) into his own world, and she follows his desire (or the rabbit-thing) to finally take a look at him (the band), notice how she is shredded into bits of white things and chucked out of the bloody-world into the original one...the singer has erased her from his crib 'cause it was in his nature to...even though he didn't intentionally want to.
ok i'll shuddap now.

oh hey maybe this song is about 'truth?'

silver and cold could be about the darker side of truth. sins sinking into him could mean that there's an acceptance of the truth. (truth is beautiful?) umm...and even when he accepts it, he is still shakey with it ("as a rap. voice escapes, i will tremble a prayer")...gah, just read the lyrics over thinking about this theme, and it'll seem like a likely possibility. i'm stupid. okay. thanks for reading this.

about the "i'll fall asleep for you" part just incase you guys wanted to know:

i remember somewhere from an interview broadcasted on the radio...from the lead singer guy, that he said he only felt comfortable sleeping while on the road (that it was pretty hard for him to fall asleep unless he was in a moving vehicle or something). From this, you could interpret that the line "Cold in life's throws, I'll fall asleep for you" could be a connotation of doing something (sporatically) that you wouldn't usually do...if someone does something for you in turn. ("i only ASK you turn away")

it doesn't connect much with the rest of the song, but it's still something to think about...being that DOGxXx said this song wasn't about sex or relationships.
