Oh my god, has anyone else listened to this song backwards??! It's FORWARDS! ... well, everything but the vocals are forwards. It's SO WEIRD. If you ever get the oppurtunity (like if you have one of those computers that... can .. play songs backwards... ) THEN DO IT !! It's like a secret that nobody knows. It's CRAZY. Obviously, Thom's vocals have been sort of cut up, or he's just singing randomness, because it was still unclear backwards. It's so genius. Everybody should listen to it backwards, It's SO GOOD. |

This song is really depressing but nevertheless AMAZING because radiohead are brilliant. This is one of the few radiohead songs that I actually understand the meaning of. It's about the "perfect lifestyle" that, really, no one can have, because it's so complicated and as the song goes on, you hear things that arent normal, and i think the person who is trying to maintain a perfect lifestyle is slowly going crazy. |

No, man, Thom's a genius. This song is one of the many Radiohead songs that makes me wanna sit down with the band and talk about the meanings for HOURS. Then again, that might kinda ruin it for me. I was just in the Climbing Up the Walls discussion, and when I found out it's probably about murder, it really creeped me out. Anyway, one of my friends always says that this song reminds him of the end of the world. Which makes sense to me, cause it's really fast and scary and Thom's vocals capture the terrifying and confusing mood of the song. And also, as someone said earlier, it could be about Nuclear War. But, man, this song is a GOOOD dance tune. When I saw them live, Thom was going CRAZY during Idioteque. I won't even get into the lights and special effects. It was incredible. They're such fucking geniuses. |

This song is SO AMAZING. My alltime favourite part is at the end, after the screaming things, and after the guitars start to come in, and then the drums, and everything builds and gets louder and more exciting and then finally there's that crazy guitar solo thing with delay on it. Whenever that part comes along, i just drop everything and sit back and listen to it. It's intensity in tent cities. It gives me goosebumps. I've always kinda thought this song is about history and events and times. I think the "echoes" represent the events that took place long ago- different things in history that have left a mark and changed things today. They could also have to do with history repeating itself. As you can see, I am terrible at explaining myself. :D |
